Everytime they hike things get more expensive
That’s not how econonomics works. Higher rates reduces the rate of inflation, but takes a while to take effect. Inflation is high because of a combination of high government spending, and very low interest rates in 2020 and 2021.
It takes time for interest rates to pull prices down. On the upside, short-term treasuries are above 5%, a pretty good yield.
