We should require them to do some cost analysis within their company, and trim the fat in the upper management. They run off with the world’s money and no one puts any check on them.

Given their history of invasions and violence that they would risk collapse to sanctioning another country at war not part of NATO refusing to negotiate a diplomatic solution but instead risking total economic collapse and defeat in the proxy war they are actively involved in! Europe got rich on cheap Russian energy and German leaders decided that they no longer wanted Russian gas. Then they froze $300 billion of Russia’s Central Bank reserves. Now Russia is retaliating.
The EU has only one choice, negotiate peace with Russia whether Ukraine likes it or not. If they don’t, their economy will be destroyed. First the pandemic shutdown and now an economic war against Russia. Russia is an energy, agricultural, commodities, and military Superpower.

How did it all start, did Russia take Crimea? Crimea has always been a Russian part of Ukraine like California is a part of the US. Crimea was Russia’s military Naval port in Ukraine but was brought under Ukrainian administration in 1954 in a United Kingdom style union agreement.
Ukraine got its independence from Russia in 1991 but when it wanted to join the European Military Alliance, Russia became suspicious of Western interference.
Russia would not allow the staging of Western troops and weapons in Ukraine. But guess what happened after the 2014 Kiev coup? Russia took back Crimea, the mostly Russian speaking region of Donbas opposed the coup and wanted to rejoin Russia, and Kiev sent its troops against the Donbas. And Western arms and military advisors started pouring into Ukraine supporting the coup government which encouraged the Ukrainian military to engage in a bloody 2014 to 2022 civil war killing 14,000 mostly Russian speaking Ukrainian separatists in the Donbas region in Eastern Ukraine.
Russia was still patient with Ukraine until 2021 when the Ukrainian Army started using Turkish military drones to devastating effect in its military offensive against its own people in the Donbas. And so Russia invaded Ukraine and entered the war.
We who are living in the West should educate ourselves before taking sides in any conflict. Waging economic war against Russia, the largest country on Earth with one sixth or 16% of the land area of the World was not wise. The European Union wanted to destroy the Russian economy by sanctioning its banking, financial, energy, and commodities sectors. But now Europe is experiencing 40 year high inflation with gas prices alone going up 20 times in a single year. Europe is losing. When a country loses a war they surrender, and now the European Union is losing this economic sanctions war against Russia.
The rest of the World is not convinced that Russia is solely to blame for the conflict in Ukraine. Russia, Ukraine, and Europe are involved a conflict that began with the 2014 Kiev Ukrainian coup many blame on the West and not Russia’s ambitions to take over Ukraine through its 2022 invasion. The Minsk II agreement of 2015 to put an end to the civil war in Ukraine was not honored by Ukraine. Russia cannot afford to lose this war. Winter will not be good for Ukraine’s war efforts. And Europe will face political turmoil because of its energy crisis.
Russia may have hoped their military operation would end quickly, and Europe that sanctions would cripple the Russian Economy. Both were wrong. But now there will be only one winner and that is Russia.
