They are in nexus with corrupt, hand-picked politicians like the Sharifs and the Zardaris, who share in the loot. They collect over 50% of national spending after foreign debt service. The surprise is not that the people are revolting. The surprise is that they have waited this long. Western powers need to understand that the military cannot win in the long term.
