A delegation headed by several Horn of Africa leaders has reached a roadblock in its mediation effort to stop the fighting in Sudan. The Sudanese Foreign Ministry rejected the proposal made by eight African nations, saying the language surrounding the talks is incorrect. The government in Khartoum says describing the conflict as a ‘fight between two generals’ is a false narrative. A court in Kenya has ordered survivors of a doomsday cult to undergo psychological assessments. A senior prosecutor says 16 of 65 freed cult members have starved themselves for nearly two weeks.
