Every dime and every asset should be divided among the families, leaving them with nothing but their freedom, because sadly they broke no laws.
Ceo is dead. The company will be bankrupt. And those families already have 💵. Not much else can be done.
@wolf if you don’t think they will sue the co-founder and the company for every last and future dime, I wanna try on those rose-colored glasses of yours my friend.
@wolfceo is dead the lawsuits die with them? 😂😂😂😂😂 what fantasy land are you on?
So you’re all gonna ignore the limited liability portion, huh. Not much they can do
they’re already billionaires bro, but yeah the company should be dissolved and people who allowed it face jailtime.
None ! You sign a waiver and go on a death mission ! They must have been Democrats.
Only a Democrat would be that stupid ! 😂😂😂😂
tell me why they couldnt attach a tether to it? you dont have to get inside the titanic to freaking see it
A 2 mile long tether?? Even if they did it would’ve still imploded, the bull wasn’t strong enough
@Jade ~ BAHAHA reminds me of the time I pulled my hook out of the water and the bait was gone!
Will the rich families reimburse Americans for the expense of all this?
It was a good training exercise for the Americans. They were aware that it had imploded soon after it happened, but continued the same as it was a rescue mission.
It was an European country, the french who had equipment
which could go down 19,000 ft, well beyond where the titanic is resting. They travelled a long distance to get there, thinking perhaps it was still a rescue mission. I know that one of their citizens was on board the ill fated titan. But Ocean Gate was based in the USA their headquarters also in the USA. It’s CEO American born. America have a responsible too.
@Noelle Gunning True, they would have to pay the same amount for actually training
@RBC2 taxpayer most likely yes. But they would be having a training exercise anyway wouldn’t they?
The next scheduled training exercise can be skipped, no financial difference then.
@celery Stockton Rush was a Us citizen and Ocean gate’s headquarters were in the Us. And he was the CEO.
They all signed waivers. Looking at that submersible what sane person would get in it?
You cannot sign away your rights. Waiver rarely stand up in court.
They were sane, just stupid and arrogant.
how about let’s talk how we can divide the guy’s billions 😂😂😂 i need some my way.
when you paid money for the privilege and signed waivers acknowledging the risks, it’s hard for the family to cry foul.
i understand but titan was not qualified. the submersible went even lower than it was built to go. oceangate covered all of the safety issues up, even shutting somebody up when trying to warn others by firing them. surely that’s a good reason for a lawsuit.
@♡ – 𝒷𝓇𝑜𝑜𝓀𝑒 – ♡ Was Titanic sued ?
No, actually. It’s not.
@Ric777888The federal courts in the United States where the vessel was built, owned, stored/berthed, registered, and where the company providing this so-called service is headquartered. That’s who. Admiralty law doesn’t mean everyone walks away scott free.
@Cristian MYes. The White Star Line was absolutely sued and the company was effectively exterminated.
Legal action is difficult when the company will soon not exist.
The CEO died.
@Silent NightBut he has business partners who are living
@Arnold Oliver they could file for bunkruptcy after this
@Silent Night
Never knew that one can be punished for their poor decisions and still escape justice at the same time.
Still the fact that three of the victims were filthy rich (probably earned a good part of that fortune in a sketchy way) reduces the blow somewhat.
“They”, whoever, have other companies and holdings. Liability could take years, prob. will and much will be determined after all the investgations are completed. The man wasn’t as smart as he thought he was or convinced others he was.
It’s all the more tragic that there was a period of hope after detecting sounds of banging.
Was hoping to wake up to the news that they’d been found alive.
God rest their souls
Not everything is about blame and money.
And yet here we are
How much did they pay to go on this “adventure?”
It would be hard to determine what country’s court has jurisdiction in an Admiralty law case in international waters. Admiralty laws pertain to maritime activities involving mostly maritime commerce and trade. OceanGate lists their maritime activities as deep sea expedition with people who uses their services as explorers who are members of the crew and not performing commerce but an expedition.
it is not the jurisdiction. it is the company itself
@Razeef & Co OceanGate is a private company with a dead CEO incorporated in Washington State. It rented the support ship MV Polar Prince, which is registered in Canada, to carry the submersible sailing out of Canada. The five people onboard are a Frenchman, three UK men, and the US CEO in international waters on a non-registered experimental submersible. The OceanGate attorneys will argue archaic Admiralty laws to reduce the amount of monetary fines since it happened at sea.
All semantics.
They all signed their lives alway. Can there be additional action?
They must have pre signed on the safety papers where company is not responsible of any unexpected suiation so…
exactly
This is so sad to know 😢😢 my there soul rest in peace🙏
Well there was no certification for any of this. Just shut them down and force them to pay out towards the families for their losses with everything the company has. Shut the doors or liquidate the company to be taken over by a certified company.
I am from Bangladesh
Hola
Hello.
@Philip at Tube hi
I am also from Bangladesh ❤❤
There have been several complaints from what I understand from former passengers. They said it was awful and ran horribly every time.
Here is an interview of a guy that backed out. Looks like he is the Defendant’s worst enemy; de facto.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TMFksPehr2E&pp=ygUJb2NlYW5nYXRl
I used to collect release of liability contracts. I thought they were fascinating. Given the situation is the contract even reasonable. Certainly you would expect some problems but not catastrophic failure.
You would assume the thing would be more or less safe to a degree. Catastrophic failure that’s just a little too much?
Ocean exploration is relatively new. Consider them like astronauts.
Submersibles have been around for a very long time. James Cameron, director of Titanic, made a solo dive to the deepest ocean in his Deepsea Challenger. Much can be viewed on youtube. I think Cameron has been down to view the Titanic 30 something times… don’t quote me but it’s a lot prob. more than anyone else.
I mean their website was deleted
wow
they got nothing as they signed waivers
Since no remains of bodies have yet been found, is there any chance that they’d had time to don scuba gear &/or evacuate before the vessel sank to it’s present crushing depth? Could any crew members be adrift at surface sea level, whether in flotation devices or inflatable emergency boats, and might some still be found … whether alive or dead?
Rosemarie you need to pay attention to physics class so u don’t ask these questions
No. 1) There was no scuba gear in the tiny sub 2) It couldn’t open from the inside 3) even if it could, the pressure would’ve crushed them.
No, as they have said, at this depth. Anything would combust.. or liquify as as human bodies
Dream on
They were bolted in to the tune of 17 bolts on the outside.
They signed waivers. There is no money to be found.
James Cameron gave a compelling interview earlier today in which he said he had personally contacted Mr Rush with concerns about this experimental sub. It was the only one that was not certified. That’s important. Mr Rush wasn’t trailblazing. He was hotdogging.
When he did The Abyss, he sure did push the envelope, and the actors to their very limits.
Lloyd’s of London began by betting/underwrited ships at sea 400 years ago. Longest continous business.
I thought that was the whole point of the waiver they all signed that was as big as a book. There should be a lawsuit bc of unsafe equipment but i really thought the waiver protected them from that. Idk tho
Owner was blantantly reckless, coming from his own mouth. Bet that’s not in the waiver.
Let’s go visit Titanic at the bottom of the ocean in a coffin-like tube, sealed in from the outside, and uncertified. What could possibly go wrong?
Nothing at all because we’ve been to the shipwreck twice and made it back alive 😂😂😂
Always about money 💰
Sounds right
Fed’s in action AGAIN 🤪🤪
🚢 be like now you additional 5 are like me muhahahahaha
Those 5 idiots signed the safety waivers on the contracts, heavy pricetag for being stupid
Uhhh none they signed a waiver kind of the point
The only way these groups do stuff like this is by signing away any right to sue
Reality wasn’t as sweet as the movies
Hopefully will be sued by the U$ and Canada to recover costs of the search effort
The titanic keeps taking human lives. Dear earthers, leave that devil alone where it belongs. Deep in the dark ocean.
Five. Over the last 110 years.
Can’t blame Titanic on this. It’s the fraudulent CEO.
The CEO imploded, I don’t think it gets much worse than that.
I think I’ll pass commenting on that. Speaks for itself.
They need to leave the Titanic alone It is a graveyard for the souls that were lost
People need to respect that and leave it alone.
It’s not a gravesight quit repeating what you hear other people say no bodies are there
The customers were foolish. The company is criminal.
Not a humbling experience to woke mental patients…..
A “waiver” should not excuse negligence on the part of OceanGate. Not only the needless loss of life, but also the many hours and noney that had to be put into the rescue effort, because they didn’t have enough safety precautions.
I am assuming that the families never signed a waiver saying they wouldn’t sue either… I wonder if that makes a difference.
When the waiver says the word death over 5 times you are a victim of your own stupidity. Regardless of the company’s behavior
Eeeirely enough the name Titan is a shorten version of Titanic
Titan is the name of book which was written about 14 years before the titanic met it’s unfortunate demise. It’s a fictional story about a ship called Titan which sank. American Morgan Robertson is it’s author.
Review all the immediate bonuses paid to the employees and shareholders in the last week or so
*you cant take legal action, passengers sing a legal document and that document says in big words: is a experimental submarine and you can lose your life*
OceanGate will cease to exist very shortly.
10 subs in the world.
9 certified
1 not.
There is not much money to be had here….the company will be bankrupt. This is not a billion dollar enterprise.
What a stupid discussion. This is not like agreeing to the iPhone disclosures… or getting on an airplane. This is high risk adventure travel for the super rich who can afford it. The discussion should be… who is going to pay for the millions of dollars spent in the search. Better not be the taxpayers. I say tax the rich so they do not have spare change for stupidity.
The stench of conspiracy is so heavy
The people that died were rich, families wont waste time with a lawsuit, they dont need money.
The families may not. But the investigations from all the countries could find criminality, so yes, it’s not about the money.
Oceangate is going to disappear
none they new the risk
The fired an employee for noting safety concerns. A letter was sent to the CEO stating the composite of the hull wasn’t good, the portal wasn’t certified for the depth they were going. There were inadequate safety measures. Not sure what else you need. However, who would sue? The participants likely signed waivers.
There is so much coming out about this company and the owner CEO, much of it on video and coming straight out of his mouth. Doubtful they’ll escape without ramifications and as reported by Canadian police, if necessary, criminal activity could be a factor.
well legally speaking, these 4 men that went down were legally stupid. The son was coerced so not entirely his fault.
I’m pretty sure the Oceangate company is now sunk after that incident.
Most definitely.
This guy looks like and sounds like a crooked lawyer , looking for a buck
When you sign a waiver that has the word death 5 or more times i wouldnt think you could sue. Your a victim of your own stupidity at that point
The investigation will find there was much not included in the waiver. The wording will not free them from negligence. If the paying customers knew what we now know, they woukdn’t have gotten on it. That’s the kicker.
@Jeanie Champagne there’s no kicker. They signed a waiver with a private company knowing the risk. It’s pretty cut and dry tbh
Get em
No legal action. They signed off on the risk.
Because a lawsuit will bring back the dead…🙄
I could see the Dawood family going after the estate of Stockton Rush!!
Daddy Dawood as well as Rush will go down as stupid men.
Dont forget the original recuse team still needs legal action.
Just blame it on Trump like you do everything.
The ceo is responsible no one else. He was the proud fool who ignored all warning signs
He was very proud that all it needed for navigation was a remade video game controller.
this company should be shut down
its stocktons fault sorry dude built a f***ing Jimmy Nuetron rocket
Blame the dead CEO. How to sue the company? Very difficult.
Who was in rhe sub new and signed
The company is Finished!! But they should face charges and consequences!! Death is on their hands!
Completely agree.
They need to change the laws no murderous experiences experiment smh
Send everyone to jail simple…people are dead because of some DIY “submersible” navigated by a fake replacement PS2 controller.
YouTube footage shows, three days, before the disaster. The vessel had major problems. The question is did they disclose the previous mechanical problems to the victims, before they signed anything.
look up “blacks law” which is in the courthouse and the lawyers office…there is more than lots people dont know…
it is the occult art of law…modern language…
mary j
Legal Action Is Coming 📢💯
🕠🕠
Doubt there will be much money left after the invoices from the numerous private SAR teams and commercial vessels whose trips were disrupted because they had to respond (by law) are paid. If someone wants to climb Everest to feed their own ego, they and their families shouldn’t be tying up our courts and trying to get rich as a reward for their own stupid decisions.
