The lives of all 8 billion people are worth $10.3 billion dollars, good to know
I’m not surprised.
“not an admission of liability” of course not because if anyone screams “cancer!” 3M essentially admits to guilt in that, in the $10B they pay now looks like a drop in the bucket. No instead they’re giving away $10B as a kind gesture to the little folk of the world and they’ll out lawyer any single person who tries to sue them.
Wow 10 billion over 13 years.. when their revenue is 34.2 billion… that’s a joke.
Why not at least provide a list to whoever’s water is contaminated?
It’s just a business loss, it’s tax deductible…. And their stocks will go up now that it’s settled….
what’s their profit per year though? Maybe they have high operating costs.
@yami39 it doesn’t really matter they poisoned the people but their net income/profit is 5.7 billion in 2022, for how many years are they profiting that vs 10 billion settlement for 13 years? they generate 34.2 billion a year, that’s all I need to know..sorry 3m you have to bite the bullet and sacrifice some operations when you poisoned people 💯
PLUS they are allowed to continue dumping poison until 2025 while STILL producing the poison!
Why is the assumption that bottled water is safer? Don’t say regulation 👀
This great news for 3M ! They’ll easily make their money back from tax breaks and subsidies given to them by all of the corrupt politicians they own
Pay but never admit responsibilty some real bs
Subside the bottle water with those billion dollars
Are you going to use this money to actually improve the drinking water? Or are they going to use it to line the pockets of more administrators investigators and talk about it talk about it talk about it people
Start making companies pay in jailtime, not money. You pay money for a speeding ticket, not poisoning the water supply.
Amen
It’s a civil matter for them but it would be a criminal matter for us
What about Biden’s bribery recordings news???!!!
year and years after everyone got sick, now that ‘settlement’ is drop in a bucket and how do you compensate the whole environment after it’s got pfas in it? can you filter all waters in the world? bottled water? yeah right another point for corporation and the government who backed them up all the time against actual people
This is one of the things I’m asking god about
WHO REALLY GET THE MONEY??
3M has screwd us all with those forever chemicals.
Our bodies cannot get rid of them.
And these same chemicals will transmit via our DNA to future generations.
In fewer words:
Our bodies have become weaker and more susceptible to cancer and other deteriorating health conditions that our kids will also keep paying for it with messed up bodies, via their damaged DNA.
$2.50 per person rest goes to lawyers
After working for that evil empire, nothing surprises me!
Still want a massive independent study of drinking water across the country.
I want to know what is it it and why.
So .. we just put a price on murder. These corps that use greed over safety need shut down an people imprisoned. What’s that? Oh… Government would lose money?? That’s why these corps get away with it? Gotcha…. Immoral pos’s.
Having to switch to bottled water isn’t any GAURENTEE of water safety as many bottled water company’s get their supply straight from the tap…further having to switch to bottled water is an additional FIANANCIAL burden on families … Can you imagine having to buy bottled water for ALL your normal daily water needs…. Cooking, drinking, bathing, washing dishes, and the list goes on and on….
And there are chemicals in plastic bottles that leach out into the water. It’s not known what-all these chemicals do, but it’s strongly suspected that they are hormone disrupters at least.
13 years? That’s way too much time for skullduggery.
What about flouride🤔
Just enough money to pay off all of the politicians and lawyers, and nothing will be done to all of those municipalities
Who gets this money. Send a mil my way
Wow! 300 BILLION! 😮
DuPont
So the government gets the money and the people get the chemicals?
Wait.. they poison the water supply for years and rather than pay medical bills and reimburse families it, cities are going to get paid out?
Which we all know will 100% be used for the right reasons instead of disappearing into an officials wallet shaped block hole…
Got it
If it were 10.3B PER year, it would have a trickle down – sit-up-&-take-notice effect, as it is, 10.3B over 13 years? That’s pocket change to #3M.
Awesome now when are they going to settle the hundreds of thousands of veteran lawsuits?
