The first photos were released of the pieces from the Titan submersible wreckage more than a week after a “catastrophic implosion” killed all five passengers on board. NBC News’ Ron Allen reports on what parts were recovered and what the U.S. Coast Guard will focus on in its investigation of the accident.

bruh… why you gotta blink so much
What a waist of news. They dead and rich, let’s move on to other news
That was the 13th dive. Guess the old wives tale is true.
Where are the bodies?
Bodies? At this stage what they think they might have is a small smear of flesh stuck to a piece of titanium. Something they will have to do DNA analyis on to check if it’s human, or some fish that was hit by the titanium. If you’re expecting any body parts large enough to be recognisable human remains, then I think you haven’t quite grasped the forces involved in an implosion at that depth. Go read about the divers who were killed in the Byford Dolphin decompression chamber… there were bits of teeth and spine blown everywhere, and that was a rapid change of only 9 times normal pressure.
At the depth this sub imploded, the pressure is hundreds of times normal pressure.
I hope they’re ok
Nice 😅
Was what happens in an underwater implosion just theory before this because pieces look diffrent than you would expect
Looks pretty much exactly what I expected.
The main part of the sub was that cylindrical section of carbon fibre. Once that shatters, the stronger parts, the Titanium ends are not subjected to the same destructive forces. It’s like squashing a soda can, the middle part is flattened but the round ends might deform just a bit.
The other large pieces were from outside of the pressure hull, the landing skids and tail cone.
Come up with something better than overused clichés such as “walk us through.” You people are wordsmiths. It’s your business to vary word selection and to make your sentences interesting.
The only submarine I’ll ever go on is the Disneyland Finding Nemo one.
Bla bla bla to all you chicken littles and critics out there. Afraid of your own shadow. You have no clue how this world has evolved. Thankfully you don’t have to go out and fetch your own shelter and food.
If this was a good way to build a sub, the Navy would be using it.
The failure was the builders lack of common sense.
Besides the CEO, the engineer of this death vessel should also be scrutinised. He/she should know better.
No kidding! Look at those titanium end caps still perfect after an implosion. Those were obviously way over engineered and that cost the company a lot of money doing so and he/she should be reprimanded for that!
13th trip …
Maybe 13 is a unlucky number..
Who is paying the bill for the recovery of the wreckage ?
Ahh, I love the smell of privatization in rubble and remains of people.
What’s sad is the amount of expense, effort and media coverage for several super-rich folks who agreed to the extreme risk, versus the lack of effort for the tragedy off the coast of Greece several days prior. It speaks volumes about the state of our world and who is really in charge…
🙄
Very true
Find out what they are hding from you while they exstort this story.
They are going to find bodies. Either in the ocean or on the wreck. That sub didn’t implode like they thought.
I would like to nominate the maker of the sub and it’s passengers for this years Darwin awards top spot for the entire year.
This news is so dumb. Clearly, we can see what parts are.
Noooooo
looks like the large chunk of metal survived
accident can happen anywhere…you could die in a plane carsh, or car crash ….the chances of dead is same….if you are scare to take risk in life then dont go out of bed
It’s pretty bad when you pray the sub imploded killing them instantly. These folks don’t need another week to bring these big pieces up . If the glass breaks and water rush in they tell public different story …. 🧐
Bro blinking too much. I can’t even focus on what he’s saying 😭
Is anybody talking about trying to recover remains of the bodies?
I never subscribed to NBC News and they’re all over my subscriptions now
what about biden taking 5 million in bribes? c why is nobody reporting on this?
I suppose the salvage teams will be of to Greek waters to help rescue and find the bodies off the 300 persons that are still missing or do they just retrieve missing millionaires with their multiple million pound rescue craft……?
Picture of a bag, what a Left-wing liar station fail.
I feel like I’m being lied to again.
Those parts could’ve come anywhere.
@jimbobeire
Did you inspect the material shown in the video ?
@david Milton Did you? Your ‘feeling’ doesn’t bear any great correlation to reality. A suspicion is proof of nothing. Especially when there is nothing to indicate good grounds for suspicion. Those parts match parts seen on the complete sub, and that ship was been tracked the whole way in from the wreckage site. So you’re implying that they somehow got metal parts made to the same shape and size… rather than picked them up from the ocean floor, underneath the submersibles last reported position.
@jimbobeire
Yes.
@jimbobeire
Parts matching mean nothing.
Are you serious ?
Manufacturers usually make multiple parts for assembled mechanisms.
All parts are prone to failure and damage,so replacement parts are essential.
@david Milton ‘replacement parts’… the titanium collar wasn’t a small part that would be replaced in regular maintenance, but a permanently attached part of the frame. Stop digging a hole.
It was not the carbon fiber. The glass gave up its integrity. A chain reaction happed all the air squeezed out and imploded. The glass was made for 1000, meters, Not 4000 meters. It’s quite impressive that it held up that long
Not glass, it was acrylic.
Un-Lucky 🍀 13th Dive😵💫
What happen to millions of pieces situation? My belief is that the sub ended up cracking at less feet ! Maybe even less then ..20-25% deep of what was initially said and the bodies clearly are lost forever but most likely not exploted as said before
Your belief won’t buy a cup of coffee. Pay attention to what people actually said… the _carbon fibre_ would shatter into thousands of pieces. Did you see a large carbon fibre cylinder in any of that debris?
No.
They found the two titanium rings from the end of the cylinders and the titanium end caps that attached to them, none of the hull that would have been in between…
The other parts were from the landing skids and tail cone, which were not part of the pressure hull.
This was a suicide mission 😢
Sadly expect to see those pieces in a musuem
Dont mess with 13th number..
The word of God says, ” Do not lean on your own understanding….”
Viewport was only certified to 1300 meters I read earlier on in this. But just as likely carbon fiber was weakened. Have to wait and see what investigation reveals.
Well, of course there will be large chunks. Metal liner of the hull imploded and its outer CFRP coat just fell off, and so did other plastic parts and the front lid.
Interestingly the glass on the front portal is gone.
Unlucky number 13. I was sick for these folks that whole week, hoping they were alive and a miracle happened. So sad
Was I the only one that got fixated on the fact that he said it was on itS 13th voyage? 😳
THE WHITE’S TITANIC STILL TAKING INNOCENT LIVES …KEEP IT UP BUT DON’T BE CRYING 😭 😭 WHITE TEARS AFTER
God bless them and they’re family and friends 🙏
their
God 😂😂😂😂
I can’t wrap my head around people trusting Stockton rush. In the interviews i saw, he seemed arrogant and nonchalant..like he didnt really care. In one clip i saw, he just tossed the controller on the floor of the sub like it was nothing. I think those people were incredibly dumb for even doing this or trusting him. Its hard to have sympathy for sheer stupidity
I am pretty sure that basis some study supported by ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, BBC etc, safety, common sense & due diligence is rooted in white supremacy or patriarchy. Or both.
People places and thing’s
You can see the front end cap with the porthole – the glass is missing, I wonder if that’s what failed? It was only certified for depths to 2,500 feet.
Mmm can of nutrient paste
The analysis of the human remains will go a long way towards discovering the cause of this tragedy.
We may find they all spontaneously died from CoVid just before the Titan imploded and the implosion was just a contributing factor to the main cause of death.
Did they all have their shots and boosters?
They’ll never find their doodlebugs or sacs because these would be easily liquified.
Fortnite burger
If they say found human remains ur sorely mistaken they trying get u as very cunning headline so they can boost the ratings as very dishonest and very misleading as ur body are crushed but the clothes and shoes and watches are left behind so call found remains of dead body
‘presumed remains’ is more likely to be something like a thin smear of organic tissue stuck to a piece of titanium. These days with DNA testing, it would be possible to confirm whether or not it’s a passenger and even which passenger. Otherwise, it could be from a passing fish, killed by a fast moving piece of titanium.
@jimbobeire Thank you for tirelessly explaining, you’ve been doing it in a lot of comments.🙏🏻🙏🏻
😢
All this money to learn about how stupid humans are.
Another coffin recovered for no good reason.
Ceo Mr rush had a suicide mind and expoilted his victims 😔 so he can make history Mr rush should have tested the vessel on him self before taking anyone on board..evil mind
With more proof coming out, he really established this “business” to fool gullible rich people.
Do you bury the thin film of residue?
So sad
If there was an implosion why are there large pieces left ??
because the weakest part would shatter first, and the Titanium rings and Titanium end caps would be robust. The other parts were landing skids and part of the tail, so they were outside in the water anyway, before the implosion, so they didn’t experience an immense and rapid change in pressure. They would have been thrown off when the hull came apart, but not ‘obliterated’ like the contents of the pressure hull.
hubris, arrogant and unjustified sense of self-Importance and exceptionalism.😂😂
It’s in International Waters, right? That’s going to make prosecution hard especially if the passengers signed contacts waiving certain rights. I think they company should be investigated and prosecuted but I’m not sure if it’ll happen. Also improbable but perhaps we should bury sea-graves. Barges of sand dumped over the wreckages. The Chinese are currently stealing metal from old battleship graves and there’s got to be many more instances of tomb robbing and morbid tourism going on globally. One of my relatives was the band leader on the Titanic and he went down with the ship doing his duty like thousands of other sailors. Respect the dead and let them rest, you too will lay down for the last time one day.
You are all so smart 😂
How are there human remains?
Since the invention of DNA testing, anything big enough to take a tissue sample from would count as remains, since we would now have the ability of identifying which person it came from. 50 years ago, it would just be considered a bloody smear on the debris with no way of knowing who it belonged to.
@jimbobeire This 👍👍
Criminal actions? He’s dead
It’s sad that they don’t give the immigrants who are lost at sea the seem attention as this thing. Traditional media today is just trash.
The implosion will, obviously, affect the parts where there is a pressure differential. That is the pressure vessel itself. All items around and outside were at equal pressure with the ambiant water. No reason for them to be flattened(bent , warped or ripped yes) like the carbon fiber chamber and everything that was inside. Not surprising tat all o find large pieces and assemblies.
I have no money or passion to pursue deep sea adventure so I had no interest or knowledge about it but, I’m very impressed that they found the wreckage within a month of the accident.
11 days to be exact
suspect
They’re questioning if there should be? That’s funny.
fake news
The crew compartment was the only area that was kept near 1 atmospheric pressure and subjected to the tremendous pressure difference that resulted in the implosion. The rest of the craft pieces were at the same pressure as the depth that they were at and were just flung away from the implosion.
😂😂in bbbbhhjjjjjj
Wow smh
VIENE DEMANDA,,, VIENE DEMANDA,,, VIENE DEMANDA,,, VIENE DEMANDA,,, VIENE DEMANDA,,, VIENE DEMANDA,,, VIENE DEMANDA,,, VIENE DEMANDA,,,
Is NO ONE going to mention or comment on the fact this was the 13TH!!!! VOYAGE!!?? Hence “Appollo 13”? Houston , WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!??
Something is fishy! A catastrophic implosion .. but those chunky pieces. Look at the eye (it’s all intact)… maybe because it’s made from the same material!? Look at the landing brace or frame, all there and together.. hmmmmm
Why are you surprised that the Titanium alloy pieces aren’t shattered into pieces?
Also, the farings for the tail cone, and the landing gear… you realise those part are from _outside_ the pressurised cylinder. The landing skids are in the water as soon as the sub is launched, so they wouldn’t undergo an immense and rapid change in pressure from 1 bar to +300 bar.
hmmmm almost like you don’t understand what you’re looking at… hmmmmmm
@jimbobeire This👍👍 I’m glad there are people like you explaining more. I’m tired of telling others that there are different types of implosion. They automatically think that if it’s an implosion, only bits and pieces would be left.
A very tragic end to all involved. We as humans all push the boundary;s wanting to accomplish and understand. Without these great explorers ,as al would still think the earth flat. SINCERE SYMPATHY TO ALL INVOLVED & THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES
Except the one who made it deliberately broke a lot of rules to fool gullible rich people.
Just because there’s big pieces doesn’t mean it didn’t implode… water pressure disintegrate metal but can defiantly implode humans that far under water….
This👍👍 I was trying to tell others too that there are different types of implosion.
The company that operated the doomed submersible that imploded in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean is still advertising expeditions to the Titanic wreckage on its website.!!
That’s how you know it’s established by demons.
Can they recover the sd cards from the half dozen GoPro cams they had on board that be breaking news for sure
Arrogance, overconfidence, the name and the 13th time… What could go wrong?
Is there any body found?
Some news articles are reporting about remains they found along the wreckage of the submersible. That could be parts of the body only though.
Even if it the owners folt he was killed in it
I question the stability of the submarine even if the center hull was metal. It’s a poor design for a vehicle that has to handle and absolutely incredible amount of pressure. Making part of it straight is the first mistake. But the fact the end bolts on seems like it would make the vehicle even weaker from a structural standpoint. Then you make it carbon fiber. Even if it was metal It would have to be insanely thick
Wonder what happened here…
and once again a sociopathic narcissist who happens to have (had) a lot of money was able to convince likely other sociopaths (other than the kid ) to feed their egos and the result was this.
🙏🙏🙏
When are you going to talk about the shipwreck that was bigger news? The Greek one… billionaires are not as popular as they used to be.
Democrats are RACIST 😂😂😂😂
So what was found?
Go find the migrants who drowned
The Thresher imploded at 8400 feet…/
13th journey… the unlucky number! 😅 Anyway, did they found the bodies? Also if you are warned that the whole thing is a bad idea, but all you hear is money and innovation… welp prep the grave, the dude is deaf.
Great reporting Ron Allen
Сол соманы кедей кісілерге жұмсаса е🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😔
Its covered with tarps, something is not correct. Our media seems to be false.
