This is a very good analysis. Thank you. What Mr. Kupchan said, and I agree, is that as much and as hard as the bureaucrats tried to mend the relations between China and the US, the politicians set the framework which constrains how much they can achieve. By all account, the GOP and the Democrats are in a bidding war, trying to outbid each other over who is the tough guy against China.
Of course politicians doesn’t know what can, or can’t be achieved. They think that by imposing sanctions, the opposition will yield. Well, it is only true if the recipient does not have ways to fight the sanctions. It so happens that China does have means to do so, and is going to hit the US where it matters…banning the very raw materials which the US relies on for the chips.
The almighty America is afraid of competition?🤣🤣
yes they dont like competition but all they do is create their own monster… like ban china from the international space station
– china respond build their own, chip war- china is working hard to overcome it.
kind of exchange punch
Usa start the war, china help finished it. fair no need to cry
US is launching a tech-war against China and China will stop US to access the critical metals. The war has already started and the US fired the first shot and now China is firing back.
US companies that access these materials with dual use military will be sanction under China export control list…
why cry, Usa start this chip war, china just help with the war😂😂😂
US is like a small baby that just cry, they start the tech war, fine , China says ok, when China reply tic for tac, they just cry like a small baby, wats that.
China only complied with US wishes for chip war.
Since the US, EU and Japan restrict the export of high end chips to China, that means they don’t need chips making materials too😂
Spot on.
Uncle Sam wants Uncle Xi to stand there and gets hit not expecting Uncle Xi to punch back. What a silly mindset!🤑🤑🤑🤪🤪🤪🤪
Yes, actually China is retaliating with baby steps . China has a range of measures to retaliate but choose to be silent . Even insulting the head of the strongest country both economically and militarily got not even a whimper in response.
maybe something wrong with the Chiinese
the law of cause and effect. Economic decoupling will cost american companies . The loss of the chines market will cost us Trillons in in revenue. china can dump their 870 billion dollars of u.s treasury bonds. China can refuse to buy u.s treasure bond. we do not have all the leverage on this relationship.
Interesting.See who blink first.
Everyone knows that it is West starts to cut chip supply to China and disrupt entire supply chain in the world! Now West feels the same pain if they can not make chips by themselves! There is full of hypocrisy from the West!
