Stocks fell Wednesday during midday trading, as traders returning from the Independence Day break eyed headwinds for the global economy and await for the release of Federal Reserve minutes from the last policy meeting.
The S&P 500 (^GSPC) was down 0.1%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) slipped by around 0.2% or about 100 points. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) fell 0.2%.
