Practical strategies for being productive
🦆
🦝
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing all that you have thus far. Your help is appreciated.
Thanks for the support in the channel!
Brian Tracy came up with Eat the frog
Brian Tracy wrote a book called Eat that Frog! This technique works!!!
Yesss the book is awesome
This technique is not effective for people with Asperger’s, ask me how I know 🙂
I think Mark twain came up with the metaphor, but Brian Tracy came up with the phrase
Yes!!! Eat a frog for breakfast
Great info we all need this. Keep up the good work
So you do have some fun in the weekends, I thought you never rest.😅
Working is fun
@Nate O’Brien can’t disagree.
Great info to take into this upcoming school year
That water cup is probably from 1960
1950s
Great advice! Communication channel monitor and limitation is the practice I use for years already now. Never look back. I will try to implement the call days in my corporate calendar. Thanks!
Nate is right, I used apple notes until it lagged so much and I switched to Up Note thats basically Apple Notes+
Complexity creates friction
Yep. Keep it simple
80% of work done in 20% of time, I take easier task first to get the satisfaction of completion 🙂
That does work better for some people compared to “Eat the Frog.” The momentum of crossing off a bunch of stuff steamrolls into tackling everything else on the list. I will switch between methods depending on what’s most urgent that day and how focused I feel.
I love the Notion idea never thought about it.
Thank you!
Yeah really helpful to use it as an extension of your brain
Brian Tracy eat that frog
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
So that means I should delete Tinder 😅 and I see why you have made your Instagram private. Too many people can slide in the Dms has happened to me ..
Yes beware overload
Another excellent video 🔥🔥👍👍
i thought you were such a pretty boy when u started this channel bro 😂 now ur lookin like a down home good ole boy 👍🏻
Awesome Video and advice !!!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for the content.
My son uses these efficient methods.
Love the idea of Kanban board. I will start to use that one for my tasks only. We usually use it for projects, but this should work too.
Thanks Nate. Btw. Clear Space is awesome! My screen time is significantly down – I read three books in 10 days! 🎉
Thank you for your content, as always!
That’s so great to hear! Clearspace has been the most effective way to reduce my screen time as well
You always have great advice! Thanks!
I like the idea of an egg timer but the loud ticking distracts me. Can you hear the ticking on that one?
This one is quiet!
As a long-term subscriber you are always giving out great advice and it is much appreciated.
Agreed
Thank you for sharing your system with us Nate! The idea of having 3 primary and secondary tasks for the day is amazing. It avoids writing massive to-do lists that overwhelm your brain and never get done.
I’ll need to give it a try because traditional to-do lists never work for me. I have a question though, say I have a recurring task (or a habit) that I do every single day. In my case, it’s studying a new language, and it takes around 1 hour a day to do. Should I still put it down as a primary task, or do habits not count as tasks in this system? Or is it a matter of preference/what works best for you? 🤔
Not Nate, but this happened to me. I noticed that habits or responsibilities are done automatically and there is no need to add them to the list because it becomes overwhelming. Imagine eating, cooking, going to the gym, taking a shower, etc. So the 3 items should be infrequent things or one offs, not daily things. My two cents hope it helps.
This is great advice. I need to be more productive. Thank you.
You got this!
I was thinking of getting a pomodoro clock myself.
Hey Nate! I absolutely love your videos and have definielty been inspired through your work. I would love to pick your brain and ask if you reccomend any cognitive enhancing pills such as Alpha Brain or Thesis? Thank you so much and have a wonderful day!
I use social media less when I delete the apps and sign in through Safari, bc it makes it harder to click on and to scroll through
I love this man’s videos
This “death by a thousand cuts” example was very insightful. I am struggling with this and hadn’t quite noticed yet
We subconsciously create little distractions and tasks to avoid our important things that we need to do
You are the only person on YouTube who can actually teach me something for life and I can trust. If you have any intention in teaching us how to escape the traditional education system and build up a fortune, please help us
Yes!!!
I used to be almost like that for all the wrong reasons and I snapped.
Just ordered my visual timer!
Thank you and God bless you.
When u r ready to receive so shall you
I set an egg timer to watch your vid 😜
You should do on every video’s
Nice video
You’re genuinely one of the six people I have subscribed to. You’re r really worth listening to
Having 8-10 hours of focused time allows me to get deep into work. I call it deep work time, but it needs to be a big chunk of focused time to really get involved and get things done accurately and with attention to detail.
Hey Nate, can you do a video on how to use a VA to boost productivity?
ClickUp >>>> Notion. Always sad to see big creators use the kids’ solution.
Great tips! I can really recommending mind mapping for structuring your thoughts and do creative, associative thinking
All I can think about is Taylor swift
I see you like Sam Ovens 😀
Love the list of 3 primary tasks and 3 secondary task idea. Straight ca$h
Great video, Nate. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Homeboy Nate is a robot sent from the overlords sent to make us more productive.
An excellent video Nate: full of very practical advice that resonates with me. Particularly with regard to minimalism. I used to have 6/7 different methods for recording thoughts, now I just stick to Evernote and my productivity has increased substantially
Keep it simple!
Thank you for your ideas.
My luck with the egg timer: (sets it)
[CRASH!!!]
My mom: “YOU NEED TO DRIVE ME TO THE HOSPITAL!”
Secondary Tasks:
1) Call Steve
steve isnt getting the respect he deserves here 🙁
he has become a secondary task 🙁
Steve reading this comment 😳
😂😂@Nate O’Brien
Healthy diet + daily sport + the right frame of mind for studying = success 😎😎 . I’m learning English at the same time as listening to your subtitled videos ☺☺
same thing bro
this is brilliant, thank you Nate!
yea the hardest part is getting to start the task
📌Thanks for the video, investment is the key,you can be rich like these millionaires by working your ass out, most of them don’t work upto 3hrs everyday. They earn passively from their investments which most minimum wage earners don’t do,life is sweet when you have different sources of income, invest in something to expand your earning
The rich stay rich by spending like the poor and and investing ,then the poor stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing.Bitcoin is the future, investing in it now will be wisest decision to do especially with the current rate.
Crypt0 now should be in every wise individuals list,in some months time you’ll be happy with decision you made today
𝔱𝔯𝔞𝔡𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔯𝔞𝔠𝔥𝔢𝔩𝔰𝔦𝔤𝔫𝔞𝔩
she’s often active on her ȶɛʟɛɢʀǟʍ.
And tell her I referred you for faster response
This is great advice i need to be more productive
Super valuable and relatable- thank you! The death by a thousand cuts comment is spot on for me; it can be hard to just sit down and focus on one task at hand when there are so many thoughts running through my head.
Very useful video. I love the location of where you are sitting. Looks like a cabin. So relaxing!
And this is when you realize the importance of an outro! 🙂
Great video Nate, definitely will put some of these to practice!
Love your content man, it’s genuinely helpful. Cheers and God bless.
Great video
MINIMIZE RATHER THAN ORGANIZE.
great tips
This was the most informative video! 💕
Topical bookmarks would be helpful.
Nate, if I am to be most productive, I can’t be scrolling until I find your videos and feel guilty!
eat that frog book by brian tracy!
“The John Fish” talked a lot about time management on his channel and he sells a “Growth Book”; Tyler Mowery has talked about this on his Writer’s Mind and other videos for screenwriters. Max Reisinger, though (Circle Park and other companies) seems to multitask all the time, even within videos.
I always get up and eat ice cream while working lol. Question I’ve been trying to figure out from your videos though – how do you keep track of long term projects and goals? Which Paper notebook or digital software?
Following up; do you have a more detailed view of your notion setup?
Notion
Brian Tracy cave up with the Eat That Frog 🐸.
Great guy
Had to watch the video in 0,75x
@2:50 Pomodoro technique
Focus on just a few productivity apps minimalist approach is best
great video
How many hours you work daily using the egg timer?
I used to start with the easiest tasks firsts and most of the time I wouldn’t reach the most important tasks then I end up with a long list of hard and important things that have to be done in one day. That was really stressful. A couple of years ago, I started to follow eat the frog method now most of the time I get to finish my to-do list or I end up with small and easy tasks that are not urgent.
“Eat the frog” came from something Mark Twain said: “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning, and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”😁
🐸Eat The Frog comes from Brain Tracy’s book – Eat That Frog.
Oh. That makes sense
Hey Nate! thanks a lot for your videos, I learned so much these past few weeks taking notes about them. I would like to ask you if we may please have a lesson on taxes? I think it’s a very interesting topic and would like to know more about it and hear what you have to say.
A clear-cut understanding and tracing of long-term goals to decide one ‘daily frogs’ properly would be helpful, wouldn’t it?
Great vid Nate!
Egg timers are a game changer! I’ve used the Time Timer MOD for over a year now and it has helped me a lot!
Id also recommend Google Tasks because they very nicely integrate into Google Calendar and just by scheduling tasks I’m much more likely to finish them.
