Leaders of the BRICS alliance of five nations have invited another six countries to join.
They are: Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The annual BRICS summit is being held in Johannesburg.
The leaders of Brazil, India, China and South Africa are there, while Russia’s president is on video link from Moscow.
The South African President made the expansion announcement.

I think Indonesia’s choice by conducting an in-depth study to join the BRICS is the right choice. There is no need to rush, because there are many advantages and disadvantages of joining the BRICS that need to be carefully considered.
Only when the results of an in-depth and thorough study have been obtained will a decision be made, because an international decision can affect various lines of society.
Indonesia and Vietnam should also be made part of BRICS as soon as possible.
China leads the world in deployment of clean energy, electrified mass-transit and EVs, with per capita CO2 emissions beo9w the world average and certainly lower that any G7 nations. I think the last commentator needs to check some facts.

Long term, this will be good for Americans. Ever since the dollar became the reserve currency, the dollar has been losing value and thus, the quality of life of Americans have been decreasing. There are a couple of positive outcomes:
1. It will become more expensive to buy goods from overseas, and therefore, it will become cheaper to produce goods in the US. This will help the manufacturing sector in the US.
2. It will be more expensive for Americans to travel abroad, it will become cheaper for Americans to travel within the US and that will help local economies.
3. Politicians will not be able to buy votes anymore. Politicians will not be able to promise free stuff, without a plan to actually pay for it.
