They say they cannot afford to any more because their spending outstrips their earnings.
The higher electricity tariffs have provoked nationwide protests.

A widow with no skills, working as a maid with 4 children, would be on welfare and scrapping by, even in a first world country. The problem with Pakistan is severe overpopulation, lack of skills and a complete misunderstanding of reality and how the world operates. Unfortunately, pakistans problems such as overpopulation, illiteracy, religious intolerance etc will take a whole generation to fix (30 years) and that is IMPOSSIBLE now. Pakistan has crossed the event horizon, the point of no return. My advice to anyone skilled enough and learned enough to leave pakistan is to leave it asap – save yourself. 1 USD to 1000 ruppee is already baked in by EOY 2025 so this is just the start.
