Forty days after their plane crashed in the Amazon jungle, four children were found alive. NBC News’ Marissa Parra has the details on the weeks-long search effort for the children, who are between the ages of 11 months and 13 years old, and the rescue on Friday.

How can an infant be kept alive in the jungle by a 12 year old for 40 days? The only explanation I can think of as to how to the children survived is that there must have been food in the plane.
As to people exclaiming ‘’miracle from Jesus” . If anything, a miracle would have been the plane not crashing in the first place.

its a rain forest lol. water is what they drank. this was easily found collected and consumed. just for your information. approximately. it rains 200 days out of 365 in the amazon rainforest.
water was not scarce. it was abundant. easy to acquire. you really shouldnt be wondering how did they find water. finding water wouldnt and wasnt hard.
whether it was safe to drink was the concern. not finding water. and even safe water was easially obtained. you just acquire something that can hold water. place it on the ground. and bam. water that is clean and safe to drink.
as far as what they ate.
they survived off 3 things.
1. a box of food airdropped by the military that was helping looking for them.
2. seeds from a type of palm tree called milposes.
3. a fruit called juan soco. which is like a passionfruit.
those 3 things are what the children said they ate to survive.
so whatever was in the box of food that was airdropped.
seeds of the milposes palm tree and juan soco fruits.
as far as how the children new to eat those things. specifically the seeds and the fruit.
the oldest was taught those were safe to eat by their parents.
there are still places where surival skills are still taught to children. because its needed to survive.

What did they eat and drink ?
its a rain forest. according to a google search approximately it rains 200 days out of 365 in the amazon rainforest. if that is indeed accurate. it wouldnt be exactly hard to find water sources. easily collect it in some sort of container when it rains.
so they most likely drank water. an 11 year old is old enough and intelligent enough to think of placing a bucket or something they found in the wreckage of the plane that can hold water and place it on the ground for it to collect the rain water.
there would also likely be plunty of standing pools of water all over the place easily enough to find for the oldest of the group.
drinking dew off leaves would also be relatively easy and abundant.
so water is what they drank. as far as food goes.
relatives have told reporters that the children said they survived off of 3 things mainly.
1. a fruit called. juan soco. which is similar to a passion fruit.
and 2. provisions dropped by military. box of food airdropped by the military that was searching for them.
3.seeds from milposes palm trees

I hope this brave story becomes in the book series called “I survived” which is about big events in history that kids survived for example wildfires, titanic and many wars. These are chapters books that are historical and talk about the kids journey and challenges they overcome and where they are now after the event. This story needs to be shown to the world.

Why does this have to pop up on my recommendation only a month before I get in a plane for the first time? This doesn’t help with my fear of planes but makes it worse 😭 glad those little ones are ok though. Poor babies are most likely traumatized now.
There is a survival show called “alone” where hardened professionals survive by themselves. Not too many last more than 40 days. Absolutely incredible! Really curious why they left the crash site though
