“I guess we’ve got a pilot in our house, and he says he got ejected.” That was the 911 call received in Charleston County, South Carolina, after an F-35B Lightning II fighter jet crashed Sunday, according to audio released by the county government.

WHAT CAUSED THE FALL ?!?! SMH
I bet that dispatcher was pushing the eject button the whole time trying to scape that crazy situation 😅
911 lady should be ready and not surprised by a emergency.
Plane. Bad. Eject. Ouch. Help.
What part exactly was she struggling with. 😅
Ok. I know this was not something she’d practised for. But “How far did he fall?”, which btw, she’d just asked as if she wasnt speaking to the pilot at the time…. :/
His back hurts from 2000ft VA will say no service connected.
Common sense is a thing of the past
What a joker this woman was
This longer version of the call gives a better understanding of what happened. The dispatcher was initially startled, but she clearly said she was sending an ambulance immediately. I read other comments saying she was incompetent. No, she was doing her job. I think the pilot was in shock or dazed about what happened and concerned about his plane and didn’t like being asked questions.
The pilot didn’t like the incompetence and stupid questions…regardless of the answers from the pilot, the dispatcher was NOT going to do anything different besides send an ambulance.
Why does pilot not have someone to call…not a joke…..
Hard to find good employees in 2023.
Aircraft failure he says…
If there was any Russian spies in the area they would have followed the aircraft like a pack of prairie dogs 🙂
Without an official debrief pilot did good👍
Pilot: “I’m a military pilot and I ejected from my aircraft. I need immediate help. Please send an ambulance.”
Dispatcher: “First, I’m going to need to ask you a few important questions. What is your favorite color? Also, what did you eat for lunch last Wednesday?”
After having to listen to that dispatcher, I’m pretty sure the pilot was upset his parachute worked.
Dispatcher: “Blah blah blah blah.”
Pilot: “Just forget it. I’m walking home.”
Note to self: Never play Charades with that dispatcher.
Typical dispatcher annoying and about as useless as a powdered donut to a drug cop.
“We have got a pilot in our house”😂😂😂
Naw you look fine just a couple scratches ❤️ lol
I once stood behind two elderly gentlemen in a queue. One said to the other very casually, “gosh, I haven’t seen you since that member of the King of Jordans aerobatic display team crashed in your back garden”. Quality!
Pilot: Ma’am I just ejected from 2000 feet.
Dispatcher: what direction was the wind coming from?
Tell me you want your job replaced by AI without tell me.
Fake. No plane Same day Ukraine was gifted “Swedish mystery fighter”
Still confused. So the pilot ejects for? The plane kept flying for 80 miles. Sounds more like pilot failure.
910-1/2 operator, actually call went like this, , what’s your emergency, sluuuuuuurp>, ……, what’s your phone number, sluuuuuuurp, wait a second, I’ve got to get this ice cube moved from my straw, sluuuuuuurp…..
I know dispatchers have a very difficult job, but this was horrible. Imagine if the pilot was severely injured, the amount of time wasted with these stupid questions could have been detrimental under more life threatening circumstances.
Are these questions from 911 dispatch necessary at this circumstance and pilot pleading for emergency medical assistance?
Emergency was otw and she was just asking standart protocol questions, bizarre maybe but so was this whole story. I find it more bizarre that military relies in 911 comms for such emergencies 😮
1:43
Pilot: Has there been a report of an airplane crash?
Dispatcher: I have not seen any come up yet
Pilot: Well, pretty sure there’s gonna be one.
Would be interesting to find out if the Piolet was sacked after downing a $80,000,000.00 aircraft. I assume his pyscological pain was greater than any other he may have had. He must have been sweating bullets thinking of what he was going to tell his Commanders. Hopefully for him it was a clear technical failure because ejecting is always a two side sword to do for the Airforce and surely his own health.
Jet pilots have to be the most mentally stable people on the planet. I mean, they fly jeta yuh know.
For those confused by the questions, it’s a program that dispatchers used called ProQA apart of EMD and EFD response systems, these are standardized questions that result it a response level and PAI or instructions for the caller to prepare for EMS or FD.
Exactly! I wrote a long post about this as well. She’s certainly not the best, but there is a level of explanation for what the other commenters are concerned about.
To all the backseat drivers:
Dispatchers have certain scripts to follow when it comes to medical issues. That’s how they’re trained.
Literal scripts: ask this, if answer is this, move on to this. Ejecting from a fighter jet is not one of those. So her logical mind understands what she’s hearing, but to proceed with the call, she has to pick the appropriate corresponding track. While obviously also being a little surprised at what she’s hearing!
She obviously categorized this as a Fall – now, remember geniuses, “out of an airplane” is not one of those options. An air crash is a whole other scenario, but it doesn’t tend to accommodate a one on one discussion with a survivor, as safely ejecting/parachuting are NOT the norm, but the exception – so it then proceeds to ask how far to determine severity: down a few stairs, off a 2nd floor balcony, etc.
Admittedly, “from 2,000 feet” is probably going to to snag her analytical mind because you don’t expect to hear it. She’s trying to adapt to a situation, as a 911 operator, that she LITERALLY could never have imagined, and was not trained for, and none of her coworkers around her were prepared for or had (most likely) ever dealt with either.
Also, the patient (Pilot) is obviously present, conscious, speaking clearly, so this also lowers (to some degree) the “OMG! OMG! OMG!” factor down to “Okay, let’s get help on the way”.
There’s also a very real likelihood, although a very tiny percentage, that this Operator is wondering if this is some kind of false call. Yet she still asks the questions, as best as her script will allow.
Frankly, that her pauses were as few and as brief as they were is still a testament to her abilities to deal and continue. It’s possible, if I had to offer any criticism, that choosing an Accident question flow might have resulted in a smoother discussion. But then I’d be backseat driving too.
If you can’t do the job, then don’t pretend you’re experts on it. The massive collection of negative commentors are Dunning–Kruger’ing the heck out of this. Go look it up, you seem to have the spare time.
Exactly!! I posted a long comment about this too, that I’m sure no one cares to read because people are more interested in being upset than actually learning something. Here is the original post I had:
“This is a long comment, but I think it will be worth it if you are looking to learn more about 911 dispatching/ call taking.
I’ve worked for an EMS agency for many years and wanted to provide a little context regarding the 911 dispatcher. First off, I agree with everyone that she has some serious room for improvement, although there is some degree of explanation I wanted to share with everyone. Several 911 dispatch centers use a computer aided dispatch (CAD)/ call taking software called ProQA utilizing the medical priority dispatch system. The Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) is a way of categorizing and prioritizing EMS incidents. The MPDS assigns a number-letter-number format code to each type of incident. A fall, like in this example would be number 17. (I will provide a link to a video at the bottom of the post that shows how entering a call in for the dispatchers point of view looks). It essentially pigeonholes you into a set of question that you have to ask for a given problem type/ chief complaint. It has caused controversy in various municipalities for this very reason. For example once a call has been coded as a MPDS ProQA #17 Fall, dispatchers for some agencies (such as mine) HAVE TO ask the exact questions that the program lists and are not allowed to deviate at all. I’m guessing the dispatcher in this video coded this incident as a fall and was prompted to go down the set of questions that you heard. At our dispatch center, our dispatchers performance was assessed, in large part, by their ability to stay on script and not deviate from it at all. The higher percentage of the time this can be achieved, the more likely a dispatch center can achieve ACE accreditation. As an aside, a dispatch center can achieve Accredited Center of Excellence(ACE) designation through the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch, for achieving COMPLIANCE in emergency medical dispatching. This process is protocol driven, ensuring dispatchers follow the standards put forth by the academy when guiding a caller through an emergency situation. The idea is that these protocols work for a majority of call taking situations, and that deviating from them statistically overall can have a deleterious effect on patient care.
Again this system causes controversy for the very things you heard in this video. The dispatcher stays on script, isn’t allowed to ask their own clarifying questions, and essentially non pertinent questions are asked. This is why several municipalities have gotten rid of the ProQA software“

@D D Thank you for including that.
I am a Police Dispatcher, we have CAD but no other software system (at least where I work). We use our own training and logic flow as it’s more adaptive to evolving situations.
Having transferred thousands upon thousands (I’ve been on the job a LONG time) of medical calls to an EMS Dispatcher (and I am required to remain on the line until released by them as not needed), I’m familiar with the general idea of their system.
The detail that you clarify it is helpful, and illustrates much better the point I was trying to make about the work flow she was following.
‘ ….and the injured party’s hometown and mother’s maiden name is?’
Man we have fallen so far down the rabbit hole with common sense. My god our 911 system is a ghost of what it once was.
I have the same problem with drive through orders, after giving them exact details of my order they start asking questions about what I want
She needs a different job!!!
I guess SC 911 operators will now receive new cards with default questions to read from for people who eject from their aircraft.
This municipality might consider outsourcing their 9/11 dispatching.
You can tell she’s relieved once she finally finds the correct script to follow. LOL reminds me of Idiocracy scene when Not Sure goes in for “hospital visit” smh.. XD
Lol the patient
She was asking from how how high “the patient” has fallen from as in from a ladder, roof, maybe even elderly person from a bed and the answer “2000 feet” really make her erm… even more confused haha.
Everything is clear from the first time is stated by the home owner/caller. That is some really unprofessional approach from the dispatcher asking for multiple times what is happening.
“What caused the fall?” Well I was out taking a walk on the wings when I tripped on a missile and fell off.
He free fell to the ground from 2,000 and lived to tell about it. What a champ! -Dispatch 😂
A good and brave pilot would have stayed with the plane until he was away from populated areas. Or is the whole thing a hoax?
Who is training these operators wow talk about clueless
Useless 911 operators.
At various times I’ve listened to recordings of victims trying to communicate with the emergency dispatcher’s and I’ve been a little amazed at the slowness and kinds of questions they ask. It’s no different in this incident, the dispatcher doesn’t seem to get it. I guess they’re required to ask a specific sequence of questions, depending on the scenario, but if she was listening more carefully she could have grasped the situation better and responded more competently. I guess the good thing is, she dispatched the first responders prior to asking the questions.
Chat GPT would solve the problem.
Im with the 911 operator. The dudes fine, ambulance? The military needs come get him and figure out where the plane went. Think the pilot messed up bigtime if the plane didnt crash near where he bailed.
The dispatcher asked the appropriate questions. The pilot is unable to answer simple questions such as age, and if there is bleeding and what body parts hurt aside from his back.
I guess the guy must have been in shock to be unable to answer rhose questions. The questions the dispatcher asks helps send appropriate help. Remember that if you are calling for yourself or another person .
Can you please send an ambulance ? Yes sir just a minute, I have to read page 2 of the manual to you first. I’m in the military, ok sir, Thats on page 4, let me read page 3 first….
That dispatcher either needs to be fired or be completely retrained. She’s as dense as a brick.
Its just like Tom cruise in top gun
I know they’re just trying to do their job but they do sound in competent
Dispatcher: “How far did you fall”
Pilot:🤦🏻♂️
Who is hiring these 911 operators? That lady needs to be replaced with somebody more qualified t handle high stress
Very funny. He said Is there a jet crash report? Not yet she answered. He said I don’t know were the airplane went. It sounds like a pub conversation after few drinks 😅😅at midnight. I have a pilot in my house….
Either her training was absolutely horrible or she should simply find another career. Imagine if this was an actual life threatening emergency. She sounds like a nice person and all, but emergency dispatching doesn’t seem to be her thing. Has trouble listening and comprehending.
Airhead 911 operator. Reading off the handbook
What caused the fall? Pilot, “my ejecting caused it”.
911 trying to fill in a form not at all made for this
The dispatcher is worse than trying to call the customer service at Ali baba
Would you like to extend your aircraft’s warranty?
“He just fell out of the sky… literally!”
The dispatcher needs a quality control even more than the F35 program does.
Why is she wasting time with her own curiosities…
Unnecessary very big military eating billions of dollars of Us people; many people living on the streets; Us government even not helping any people in need of health care but wasting Tax payers money on this military toys; one f35 costs almost 100 million dollars; pity
Collateral damage= Us people
And Humanity
“aircraft failure”Just a regular F-35 🤣
911 operators MAGA hat is on too tight
cutting circulation to the brain.
Time to die before this Dispatch lady wakes up 👎👎
“When was the last time the patient consumed more than 500ml of alcoholic beverage within 2 hours after a meal with 1000 calories or more?”
“Did the patient reside at this address for at least 180 days in the previous tax year?”
“Has the patient ever owned a pet goldfish that lived for more than a year?”
Does 911 not have caller id?
Omg…rookie dispatcher
Hilarious.
Would think the military would have an emergency type of 911.
So people along a line stretching for tens of miles looked up and saw a passing jet, completely unaware that it was empty. Can’t make this up.
And we lost a tenth of a billion dollars in the crash???
INCOMPETENT IDIOT’S
Can you imagine how many people lives probably perished by speaking with this incompetent sounding dispatcher! SMDH!
This 911 dispatcher is giving off strong NPC vibes.
When she kept asking him how he was I would have yelled im find but somebody is dead
The dispatcher sounds like she is checking her tik tok account while handling the call.
Okay, I’m no dispatcher but I at least know to tell them an ambulance is in route but stay on the phone with me… 😵💫 Otherwise they will panic bc it sounds like you’re not sending anyone to help and stalling time bc you don’t know what you are doing.
Yes ma’am, I have a military pilot in my house and we need an ambulance. He just ejected from a $50,000 million dollar military airplane.
“Sir, do you have any females in the house between the age of 19 and 22?
I’m so confused by all of the people in the comment section criticizing the dispatcher, like please be so for real. First, this is such a strange situation, so of course she’s shocked that a man descended from the sky into another man’s backyard. Secondly, she immediately followed the request for an ambulance and clearly indicated so at 0:34. Thirdly, the job of a 911 dispatcher is to gather as much information as possible, which she is doing AFTER she has already sent an ambulance on its way. 911 dispatchers have to operate according to super strict procedures. Criticizing someone who is justifiably shocked by an extremely rare circumstance and is still performing her duties? Y’all are competing for the media illiteracy olympics, I fear.
This remind me a scene from top-gun. Where am I? Earth.
Wow wth is wrong lol that dispatcher can’t hear?
That girl needs some more training
“Ma’am, I rode a parachute.”
lol
Reading from the script. Perhaps they need a section on person ejects fron aircraft .
Dispatcher = Shzt, i wasn’t trained for this… She sounds tired, exhausted and confused 😕
1:45 the stealth technology doing wonders :p
The new WWF Road Dogg theme song ” Ohhhh you didn’t know, yo azz better call somebodyyyyyyyyy”
Dispatcher: “Did a cumulus cloud get in your way during your fall? If not, then what kind of cloud?”
The dispatcher will ask for an award , increment for being illiterate , stupid , but woke , Bs pet lover , green energy bla bla
1:44 it looks like military have been keep secret about F-35 crashed report and never report anything with police officer except FBI and CIA already been aware about the situation.
