I’ve seen several references on network news and on social media about how ‘We didn’t see this coming’ with the ‘No vote’… What I find amazing is that 27% of the workers voted yes. That 18% raise doesn’t cover the rate of inflation. I’m not saying I would quit my job before continuing under such a contract, but why on earth would a worker vote for a raise that is a net negative? Just because the workers were presented with a tentative agreement doesn’t mean that their bargainers thought it would pass… it means that after haggling for several days, the management side had refused to offer anything a better offer. The least I would vote for would be a 20% instant increase and three additional 4% or 5% annual increases and whatever the signing bonus usually is.
The deal Mack Truck was crap. Wanted to change 8 hr work day to 8/12:work day on straight time. Change shutdown schedule, from anytime from May to September. Which means, only get 2 weeks and cannot schedule vacation, which must be used for shutdown $35 will be top rate in 5 years. Benefits increase on medical policy. Deductibles , prescription, co-pays all increased. I know, I work there. Also, wanted to give us off Monday and Tuesday, and work Wednesday till Sunday. Sweet deal my a***
I am UAW Local 212. We stand with you. These companies think we are ignorant. Keep up the good fight.
That is a good deal.
Ford Local 862 stand in solidarity with you union family! 😎🤘🏻🇺🇸🛻
Keep raising those wages and protecting the lazy. Push ALL the jobs out of the US. Way to go, UAW 🙄
Unions have provided a better wage and benefits for all. If you like your 40 hour work week, employer insurance and PTO, thank the unions…
Gen xers are the lazy waste😂
@Bradley Martin Maybe you should blame the parents not the people….
@Bradley Martin Gen X isnt the ones needing safe spaces and pronoun laws, HAHA
Reporting on Mack truck… shows Ford’s Chicago Assembly!
Misleading the public to fit their narrative
I do not stand with UAW.
Me neither
Union slackers! Fire them, plenty of non-union and illegal aliens that are willing to take their place. Win win.
UAW, unions against work
All unions need to stand up to these corporate pigs
Nissan, kia, bmw, honda, Mercedes, Volkswagen average ceo pay 5 million.
Ford, gm, stallantis ceo pay 250 million!
Lazy UAW “workers” want more money for less time.
