A federal grand jury has indicted former Delta co-pilot Jonathan Dunn for allegedly threatening the plane’s captain with a gun during a flight last year. Dunn was certified as a TSA Flight Deck Officer and was authorized to carry the firearm on the plane. NBC News’ Tom Costello has more.

I left the United States almost 20 years ago, and haven’t been back for nearly 15. I don’t know whether it’s just the news bigging things up and making everyone look insane, or whether there really is some sort of mental health epidemic ongoing there. The almost daily mass shootings, the insane politics, the corporate greed, the police brutality, and bizarre judicial precedents….. it all seems to be going sideways. I’m rooting for ya America. Don’t let us all down. Better you in charge of the World than China or something.

The US has been infiltrated by its enemies, who are trying to destroy it from the inside. This has been going on for decades. But the Lord is in control and will uproot this evil and save our nation!
Pilots need tougher screening.
Their “screening” techniques obviously need tweaking to account for the madness that is in our face everywhere. No self control. Take a mushroom if you feel bad before going to work.

Kids can’t go to school without worrying about being shot, you can’t go to church, can’t go to the theater, and now can’t safely ride in a plane. When are my fellow Americans going to realize that the guns are the problem? A guy on mushrooms workout a gun is a lot LOT different than one with one.

Mental health history has no place in aviation
Feels like there’s more to this story than we’re being told….

Dunn is done.
That’s why they are so strict on drug test and psychological evaluation’s being conducted weekly and Year round based and a pilot can not consume alcohol within a timeline of 3 days I believe before their next departure destination. The United states has been in a increase rate of mental decline recently.

The FAA and airlines need to allow pilots to seek better mental health support without threatening to take their jobs. As someone actively working on My ATP and someone whos married to one and from a family of them, its one of the most stressful jobs out there and idc what anyone says, it IS a stressful job, that views any sign of mental stress as taboo and a fireable offense. Your parents died? Your kid died? Going through a divorce? Tough luck. Not only that but it’s job jeopardy every 6 months for recurrent training. That career you went into mountains of debt for? You could lose it easily. Flying. ICAO? Dealing with foreign airspace? Its tough. Im not saying let mentally disturbed people fly. But the more you scare pilots into not properly treating mental health, the more you’ll have them self medicating like the jump seater. And we will have more German Wings tragedies.
At last count there were 691,700 pilots in the US. Please give me an example of a screening method to reliably pick out these latest two nut jobs. Instead, the airlines need to ensure a no questions asked policy to call in sick if any crew member is stressed out, under the weather, hung over, drunk, exhausted, etc.
