I really fail to understand why people even talk about Israel’s right to defend itself? Israel is an occupying force here, which means Israel is already in an aggressive position. It is the Palestinians who are defending their rights not the other way around. During the second WW when France was occupied by German Nazis, the French Resistance who fought against the occupation were called heroes (partisans). They assassinated, planted bombs, ambushed and killed the occupiers in any way they could. The German occupation came to an end in a few years, but the occupation of Palestine by merciless means has so far lasted for 75 years. After the war, many books, plays, movies ect ect were created to keep the partisans’ memory alive. But when it comes to the Palestinian freedom fighters, they are called terrorists!!??!! And remember that all Israeli civilian settlers (including the ones killed in the 7th Oct. attack) are armed and have served in the compulsory military service for 2-3 years and are reservists until their middle ages. The Germans committed the Holocaust but the defenseless people of Palestine have to pay for their crime with their blood. Double standards and repeated hypocrisies of the West all the way.
