Occupied West Bank: Israeli military raid on Jenin enters second day

The protracted Israeli military raid on Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp has surpassed the 24-hour mark with no signs of conclusion. The ongoing operation now stands as one of the “largest, longest” on the occupied West Bank since the commencement of Israel’s war on Gaza on October 7, sources reported.
Reports from the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club suggest that up to 100 Palestinians may have been apprehended during the raid, with indications that approximately 30 of the initially detained individuals may have been released. Hospitals in the Jenin area have been encircled by Israeli forces, and accounts are suggesting that the obstruction of access to medical services may have resulted in the tragic death of a 13-year-old patient.
Additionally, an Israeli military drone strike claimed the lives of four people, while sizable military bulldozers have been observed within the Jenin refugee camp. Commenting on the situation, an analyst noted, “These bulldozers that wreak such damage and destruction to vital infrastructure are often used in raids like this.”
Jenin is recognized as a focal point for armed resistance in the occupied West Bank, with at least a quarter of the approximately 280 casualties in these raids since October 7 hailing from the region, according to reports.
