Baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani signed a record-setting deal for a 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers. But Ohtani will defer all but $20 million of his salary, until 2034, so that his team can have more money for better players now.

_Truly amazing combination of baseball talent & being a team player._
As if you couldn’t like him any more 😃
STUPID. He deferred his salary until after he retires so he won’t have to pay taxes to America.
@@hustlecrowe9440 Somebody is angry & jealous of Ohtani… sheesh
Respect
This is “Ohtani mentality”
He definitely did do this trade for money he loves baseball
This dude will likely earn more money through endorsements in the future than from their salary, so there’s no need to be concerned about Shotime’s deferment money.
It doesn”t matter about the interest and inflation because he’ll be getting money, while most of his peers are filing for bankruptcy.
Most baseball players go bankrupt? Then name a bunch who have, shouldn’t be a problem for you if its “most players” since there are over 1,200 player in MLB each year, thats over 600 then…
Teachers, firefighters, ER doctors….bruh you can’t be pro-America and pro-capitalism without being okay with those with completely unique talents getting paid what the market dictates. I’m sorry, but for every 100 million people who can become teachers, there are only 100 or so who can become pro athletes, and out of those there’s 1 on Ohtani’s level. He’s the top 1% of pro sports so he obv should get paid that way.
I’d rather have a doctor than Ohtani
@@CPATuttlenow do Aaron judge and Patrick Machomes and Tom Brady
Why didn’t you cry then and only now?
@@CPATuttle Are you sure you’re a CPA? I’m pretty sure you need to understand basic economics.
@@dkwestc2992 Oh okay. I’m suppose to need to watch Ohtani play baseball over needing a doctor. Thanks for the economic education
@@CPATuttle Nobody said you need to watch Ohtani over needing a doctor. That is a poor straw man argument.
this is the best contract in pro sports history this needs to be studied and put in the sports museum
Now do Elon musk 😂😂😂
And now do Aaron Judge
Stop crying and the fake outrage 😂😂😂
Enjoy those $75 hot dogs at the stadium. Suckers.
Boycott baseball, this is getting ludicrous
but none of that funding goes to the dodgers?
Why Ohtani? I can’t understand this weid contract till now.
He never cared for money 👌
Typical biased American news media. Ohtani offered the deferrals not only to help the Dodgers, but NOT to become complacent like many other 100M+ MLB players. Shohei has seen enough of that. Also, who knows if inflation is still going around in 20 years, 700M is 700M after all.
Ohtani is a legend. period!
WRONG. He deferred his salary until after he retires so he won’t have to pay taxes to America.
