Students in Puerto Rico have turned to TikTok to expose the neglected conditions in public school buildings on the island. Some of the viral videos show dilapidated bathrooms without toilet paper or working toilets. One student told NBC News that some students have opted to use the restroom at their homes instead of at school.

I went to school I Erie Pennsylvania in the 90s we had doors falling off bathrooms and sinks with no u pipes we once had a deer break into our school and smash a bunch of crap and it bled to death in the gym back in 1990

I had family in education in Puerto Rico and it’s been getting worse by the years true but this has been happening for over 10 years. I am so glad they are being focused on.

I went to school in Puerto Rico on 2009 and it’s been like this for YEARS. I remember having no AC in classrooms in the middle of summer.
Sadly it’s not only schools that look like this. There are hospitals in these kinds of conditions as well. Too much corruption in our government and politicians pocketing money meant for education.
