This is basically how you make a politician advertise for the defense industry to purchase more military equipment in the name of “defense” because “terrorism” is out there, and this lines up with the interests of Defense Companies to make more money for the future by instigating a fear of more needed “defense” and possibility of war. Ask yourself first which companies sponsor her in office in order to make an opinion to sway the emotions of other politicians by making an exhibition like that. To point out that “Islam” religion and terrorism is associated, you gotta look at the root who created them(US, UK, Saudi Oil). What about the whites that tried to wipe out Australian Indigenous tribes, does she not know that’s also terrorism?
Just why should she be cautious? Do your job.

Only thing I would change is “religion” with “ideology”, that will encompass everything better. Basically, every close minded individual who holds unsubstantiated (not rooted in science and logic in any way) beliefs is a participant in some kind of ideology. Now, what that ideology is, does not matter; what matters is that only way a good person can do evil is if they subscribe to some kind of ideology, a strongly held unsubstantiated belief. Any “belief” is bad to have, but being close minded and believing in what is not proven and is proven not to be true is what makes good people capable of evil.
Where in the Quran does it require women to walk around in a Burka? I think you’ll find the instruction is to be modest .
Islam does not demand women to wear a burqa.
There is no snakes in New Zealand. So any tourist visiting New Zealand rest assured that he or she is not going to die of snake bite. Japan also does not have a mosque as they do not give permanent residency to Muslims. Do you find any terrorist activity there from Islamic Jihadis. The answer is No. A couple of Rats can multiply into Hundreds in one year if you allow them access to your basement to live and eat food or groceries kept in storage and then you have to live somewhere else. You can allow only limited educated (Graduates and above) non radicalized Muslims so that they do not over populate you in few decades as they can marry 4 times and have dozens of children which will be naturally underfed and undereducated due to the high living costs. So the Lady sanator did the right thing to show the threat to security of her country. Ladies in Burkha will not have any control over their mind and body and will be doing what their husbands want them to do and mostly doing domestic household duties and producing children for increasing Islamic clout across the World. Please beware there are 1.6 billion of them which is one fifth of 8 billion world population today but may become the most followed religion in another decade. Christianity is 2 billion and Hinduism is 1.1 billion and that is only the counter weight for them. So request democratic governments across the world that there should not be liberal policies for Outsiders especially Muslims to settle in your country if you want your citizens to be free from terrorism.
If these people like the burqa so much, why were they upset that this senator wore one?

This is true even in places where they are not abnormal to see. Not Muslim but I enjoy reading about other practices and something that sticks out to me is that the burqa is one of the least popular choices for modern Muslim women in western countries…
A niqab is what is usually considered for those who want to be the most fundemental in their Islamic practice. Burqas literally obscure your eyes from view. To me this is dehumanizing by function regardless of reason….however Even within Islam there is hearty debate regarding if it actually is good for practice (for instance, you cannot fully touch your head in prayer if your head is covered.) At the end of the day much of this is not even drawn from the Quran itself but interpretations of the prophet. So you really do not have to worry about offending a whole lot of people. The issue is the people who would get offended, are the ones who would be offended just seeing a woman’s EYES.
Burqas are very niche in terms of wear and this seems more like classic political theatre blowing a VERY small consideration out of proportion because she could not be bothered to just explain her
point well and proper.
