…right, my house is at a lower level than two neighbors houses and for 10 years was no single problem. Not much rain. Now I had my backyard flooded and carpet little wet because their water was running down to my yard in 2023 Had to intervene and ask them to get their water redirected to the street. Still not done as it should be. Very frustrated and scared of every big rain. Redirected my rain water but ….

Its a little bit of both as we’re in an El Niño season. And we went nearly a decade with unseasonable dry weather which really left the infrastructure untested.

I live in california yet its fine where we are. News is just exaggerating over a few cities. We get a few extra unusual rainy days and all of a sudden people are freaking out.
Exactly. I’m in the SF Bay Area and it’s not as dramatic as they are reporting. Sure there are areas of concern but it’s not as they are reporting. Next they need to interview some who claims: ITS LIKE A WARZONE!

Drought and fires or storms and flooding. If California could just balance things out it would have the perfect weather and climate. I hope they’re thinking about ways to capture and retain water from events like this, because drought always comes back, and humans use a lot of water.
