The head of Boeing’s (BA) 737 Max program, Ed Clark, has left his position at the aviation manufacturer after a mid-air plug door blowout on an Alaska Airlines (ALK) flight led to groundings and inspections of Boeing’s premier jet line. Katie Ringgold, the vice president of Boeing’s 737 Max deliveries, will succeed Clark in his role.

This is a great American company. They will recover.
Correction. Boeing was a great American company. & we hope it recovers.
*was
That ship has longed sailed
no it won’t. every single large american corporation is burdened with parasitic overhead, corrosive DEI culture, and no respect for real work. The engineers who designed this turd probably spent most of their time in pointless meetings because that is how one gets promoted in corporate america. the results speak for themselves 💩
Was….m
great american laurels
This is what happens when you implement DEI to your companies.
Klaus Schwab and the WEF is purposely making every corporation implement this disastrous policy to stop us from flying
First smart thing Boeing has done in a while. Let’s see how they screw it up by bringing in some MBA from McKinsey.
Welp
They should drop the “e” and make their planes from rubber. That way their name will be the sound made when the next one hits the ground.
BOING!
I see this as an absolute win, hire a mech or aerospace or civil engineer and this can change
737 max project needs to end nothing but problems and nothing big technological step they need start up with a new design plane
Dei ftw!!!
Now, write a book about leadership and culture!
It’s sad we all know the moves and no one steps up and stops the game for something better.
737’s dont seem safe ?
baby boomers ruined everything
It’s the younger generation calling for diversity quotas which ultimately lead to unqualified individuals receiving positions based of race rather than qualifications..
You’re blaming the wrong generation.
Management at Boeing is the FBI, friends, brothers, inlaws.
Recalling all their Boeings would bankrupt them, they are literally being protected by the government despite selling cheap quality jets
Calhoun has got to go. He has no vision, seems like a weak leader. He inherited a lot of problems, but he has had years now and not enough progress. He’s not tough enough. He doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing
doesn’t change anything at Boeing
another mba person replaces an engineer…..
Why did it take this long? Only Trump gets more leeway for incompetence.
Biden gets far more leeway, considering he’s avoiding criminal charges due to incompetency..
Yet, you’ll still vote for him come November…
I think you misspelled Biden.
The amount of comments deleted on YouTube educating others on Biden’s failures is astonishing..
Now would be the time to buy Boeing stock since they’ll inevitably bounce back after cutting back on other essential sectors like INSPECTIONS, rinse repeat, it’s not the first time it’s happened
He failed here then become executive somewhere else
Oh well that’s a bummer !!!!!!!!
DEI 😂😂😂😂
Exactly👍.
Should he even be allowed to “step down” though? Like, bye-bye responsibility! Bye-bye, angry shareholders about to lose everything…
Boeing needs to just stop production of the 737 for all eternity
Leaving aka getting a big golden parachute and off to Walmart or whatever company loves failed plans
Car Company, probably. Stellantis will be looking for people
About past time. Rotten outfit
More news coming with inside info
The U.S. can’t afford not to have Boeing regardless.
The fall of dominance of american companies. The world look up to american companies as they pride themselves of stringent quality before. but times are changing and people nowadays are lazy and only want paycheck. there is also nepotism in heirarchy.
How many millions cash bonuses will you get…next 5 years it happens again with different circumstances…history is repeated from 2018.
With full benefits and a pocket full of cash
Probably will be replaced by an affirmative action hire that checks all the boxes
Let’s replace management and the public will forget about the incident.
That’s not how an airline should work. You’re the top of the damn food chain in transportation services! The whole company should be shut down, but really who would replace them.
Not shocking
First fall guy goes wonder if any more will pop up.
what took so long
I’m sure he left with a ton of cash.
Nobody ever leaves the Mafia. He is likely landing in a sister company making weapon systems for the USA.
This former Boeing manager should walk straight into prison for causing so many deaths.
I will never fly on a 737
Only now???? Finally.
Corporate culture is always going to default to the shadiest competitor. Unless we get large Corporations to all agree to a new set of morals and values for USA Companies to adhere to, this stuff will only continue to get worse.
It’s the same game, move a player and go right back to it. Essentially we need a nationwide leader to step up and convince the world that “Greed is good” isn’t actually good. The truth is John Forbes Nash’s theory would be better….”It’s best if you do what’s best for yourself AND the group”.
I’ll spell that out for the slow folks in the cheap seats……
So instead of say, hypothetical Taiwan rivets, all companies agree to use quality controlled USA rivets, for the jobs and the quality, and ALL refuse to cuts costs that way. Best for 1 company AND all the companies to do so.
Hey guys I really appreciate you bringing the topic up and exposing possible thieves and also more thieves that are in the hiding but appreciate the news and the transparency keep it up guys Charlie Western PA 👍
That person should be put into jail! He is a criminal. He also killed US airplane industry.
Captain abandoning a sinking ship.
With a golden life preserver
Somebody doesn’t wanna get sued when the next mishap occurs.
Same company that subcontracted out its software programming to $9-an-hour workers in India, because they thought that they no longer needed senior engineers.
Which was how we got self-crashing airliners.
Man, Boeing is GOING TRHOUGH IT lately! The big picture issue though is short-sighted greed which causes decision makers to cut dangerous corners & a severe decline in competence in America in critical industries like aviation among others. Deeply concerning stuff especially when nations that ain’t so friendly to the U.S. are turning up the heat.
And let me guess
Got a golden parachute?!
I work at aluminum recycling plant and i usually shred a couple loads from boeing a week and they just flat out stopped sending us stuff to shredd weird
Shocking…. 😑
I think that the problem is all at the top, why isn’t the CEO going? why isn’t the board going? And then there’s the vendors, once they get the contract, it’s how can we make OUR profit. Well everybody knows how they’re going to… cut cut cut. No company cares about the public’s safety until something bad happens, like when people die and the company gets sued. This CEO was brought in after the last two plane crashes and has done nothing, again fire him, fire the board.
Is it due to the lack of bolts holding his head onto his body?
Too little, too late, Boeing. For the first time in my life I have started checking which planes are flying to my intended destination, and if an airline says it will use a 737 then I don’t buy a ticket from that airline.
If Boeing is to improve as a company, everyone else at Boeing should have also left.
I remember when China was trying to buy Boeing, people were worried about quality among other things. Turns out they didn’t need to move to China to have sub-par quality!
I’ve been struggling with this topic, but your video cleared it up for me. Thanks a ton!
Thumbs up if you agree that this video is amazing!
DIE not working out too well.
The sacrifice must be made, and you must pretend to be a virgin.
The whole MAX program should be terminated. They tried to put too large of engines on a too-small airframe with disastrous results.
He used to be my boss. Honestly i dont know why they got a lot more pay than engineer. I worked myself hard to be come a “good engineer” that can contribute to MOPS (if you are in the industry you know what i mean) and ARINCs but got a layoff in 2017. I never thought i would be the one since a bunch of others (with respect) that i am basically leading them on every technical project. The manager targeted me because i did not listen to his crazy plan (he appointed someone who knows nothing to be mu lead. Yeah she violated many rules, went on shopping in the mall during working hours and her laptop was stolen with lots of tanker data in it but he did everything to protect her). I am not an extreme person. I do normal things people do and agree on. Almost 10 out of 10 people in my team express displeasure against the manager (he come to take picture of empty desk proving that we are coming in late). So many things i can list here … i left the company for a few months then they called me back. I NEVER want to work on technicals again and care for myself more than the company. The boss i complained was promoted to higher level… so you know where we are at now… dont call Boeing great engineering company again people. Not the company i know…
Perhaps taking much of the workforce from North America to Asia was a mistake? Also, re-embrace Project Controls / Project Management and go back to those giant Gantt wall charts that showed the entire flow of the activities required to build the planes. I wonder if they dropped Primavera 6 (Oracle)? That would be a huge mistake. Also, integrate the schedule data, with the resource and asset data to identify potential shortages prior to them happening. I recall that was a big problem too. These are fixable issues, Boeing can be great again, but it seems too often today Management’s main focus is not an amazing product, delivered on time, and on budget that is safe and dependable. Instead there is too much focus on where can we cut next? Or, how can we reduce costs without considering the impact on quality? I miss the days of, “If it ain’t Boeing, I ain’t going”.
