Please, dear journalist, do not talk on behalf of the whole world. If you didn’t know there are many countries who don’t want to take sides between the US and China competition even though the US government is putting pressure on these countries like Malaysia (take the latest comments by Malaysian PM who said that his country has no problems with China and that they won’t take any side).

China under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) invaded Vietnam in 1979 and got defeated. They aren’t colonizing Vietnam today because they got their ass kicked.
The CCP also forcefully annexed Tibet in 1951. Tibet already had their independence form the Chinese Empire in 1912 when the last emperor of the empire (Puyi) was overthrown in an uprising and the empire dissolved.
As a Singaporean now, I am more focused on making friends with ASEAN citizens. I think the most positive way to go forward is to avoid looking at either the US or China and focus on friends making in the region. The Asean region is soo big that it is a world of its own.

I am answering this in the format of a social event or gathering.

The most important thing is to be open and express yourself. Don’ be afraid if others aren’ listening or if there are no similar interests or if no one understands what you’e saying. What’s important is that you are speaking your truth freely and those that are interested to hear more will listen and those who don’t, well there isn’t even a need to care if they aren’t willing to even pay you any attention, right?
Don’t need to be afraid of speaking about yourself. Usually there is a time limit for everyone to speak so that all will have a chance so just make use of that time to speak of yourself and your views or experiences and all will be well. Those who will speak to you afterwards to get to know you more eventually will! Just never ever give up on speaking about yourself when asked. Even if it’s only a little that you can think of.
