Its government is furious at the agreement that would give landlocked Ethiopia access to the Red Sea. So far it is only a diplomatic dispute.

The second point is that there is certainly a grand conspiracy plot to deconstruct Somalia as whole and wipe out from the map of world as we know for good due to some reasons related to its strategic location, potential resources, sociall homogeinty and faith and cultural based reasons and other biases .And so while ethiopia is illegaly and blantantly leading the charge there are bigger actors and other smaller scavengers behind the scene of the nefarious scheme. Genius plot I would say and it may readily work as well. And why not? I would have done the same thing if were in the other shoes or in Ethiopia’s position given the elites and politicians of Somalia’s proclivity for corruption, lack of patriotism, crude behavior or poor discipline, myopic personal self-interest and ignorance, on top of the Somali public at large and citizens’ existing petty divisions in general and other unintelligible of political and societal rivalries, competition and disputes within.

As a Somali Ethiopian, I would strongly advise our Prime Minister to focus on stabilizing our country and avoid getting involved in the political affairs of our neighbors, especially when it comes to water politics. In the past, our involvement and disputes over territorial land with them have only led to further dysfunction and conflict with Somalis from proper Somalia. We must not forget the disastrous consequences of the Somalia-Ethiopia Russian/American proxy war during the Mangistu and Ziyad Barre era, which resulted in the collapse of both regimes, loss of Eritrea &Assab, and a failed Somali state.
Therefore, Ethiopia must prioritize maintaining peace and security for its citizens and handle all other issues in a manner consistent with international conventions that does not threaten its security. It is essential that we avoid any actions that could potentially lead us down the path of past mistakes and instead focus on building a stable and prosperous future for our country. Somalis are a mess and childish politically, though in some sense they may be more advanced and democratic than us as decent is impossible in Ethiopian politics. We now seem to be heading towards a similar fate, which would be worse in our case given our diverse and significant population.

SOMALIA may not have a strong Government at this moment, but it is to the benefit of Ethiopia and the region not to be opportuniatic as Somalia will eventually have a strong Government to protect its huge land and sea shore. Ethiopia need to navigate the diplomacy carefully not to ruin the opportunities of its people for generations to come.
