Fighting in Myanmar is escalating between the military junta and rebel groups in the east.
The violence has been focused near the border town of Myawaddy — an important trade hub and source of revenue for the cash-strapped military.
Rebels say hundreds of soldiers have surrendered.
Thailand has increased security along its border in the city of Mae Sot, as people in Myanmar try to flee the fighting.
The rebel groups have made significant gains in recent weeks, weakening the military’s grip on power.

I’m sure the United States c.i.a. is at play.
The Myanmar army is on losing streak. They are losing from western Rakhine to this eastern part of Myanmar right at the border with Thailand. When they overthrown the elected government over 3 years ago, they thought they can do as they pleased as in the past. Now, it backfired badly on them. Most people in the country just hate the military junta so much.

The military should have been wiser and left the government in power while they chased the drug lords who run the Northern provinces then pounced later. I don’t know much. I just visited the drug elimination museum in Yangon. Sounded like billionaire drug lords run their own provinces.
If the CIA are backing the rebels then they are backing the same people they were trying to take down. But then if they are anti China then it’s helps the US. I personally like to think it isn’t the CIA.

It’s due to low military morale and most young Burmese no longer want to die in a meaningless long war. Military forts are just completely giving up their bases and weapons without a fight. While the Karens are doing everything from making home rockets and 3D printing m-16s to continue the fight.

Yes they may be called rebels but they are the actual soldiers rebelling the fake government that has been controlling us with their soon to be gone power. After this war im sure that there will be no more these original soldiers or police. There will be a better term for them and better and more responsible people working as them instead of the ones we now have where they ask you to hand over money with a gun in their hands beacuse they can do anything they want. These guys have no goal in mind, they have no reason to fight except for money so ofcourse they will lose. on the other hand we have our actual soldiers they are fighting to regain peace and create a better country, they will fight to their death if they must these reasosns are whats making the actual Myanmar win and not the military. This is just one reason, there are several more reasosns why the military will lose. And since they are losing, they are using cheap tricks such as drafting the civillians to fight for them or else they will die or be prisoned, who knows what will happen if you refuse.
