Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad denies corruption allegations

Malaysia’s former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad said he and his family members were not involved in any “corrupt practices.”

“I myself was not involved in corrupt practices,” said Mahathir, who is currently facing a corruption probe by the country’s anticorruption agency.

The probe is part of current Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s crackdown on corruption in the country. However, some have also questioned if the campaign is an attempt by Anwar to take down his political opponents, as investigations have been launched against several of his rivals.
