China’s Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (CCCEU) signaled that it “could raise its temporary tariff rate on imported large-engine vehicles to a maximum of 25 percent.” The potential tariff comes after the Biden administration announced an increase in tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, among other imports.
Yahoo Finance’s Akiko Fujita joins Catalysts to break down the potential tariff increase from China and in the impacts it will have on global vehicle imports.

That is mild of China . Only 25% only
Expected? Wow who ??
Should do better than merely follow the 25% tax! Should start at 30% is a mark of objections!
Should be 100% tarriff
25% was chosen since it’s allowed under WTO rules
Should follow the same percentage of what they have imposed on China cars.
I think China knows how to play safe..
BYD is still opening an assembly plant in Hungary, so yeah, they retaliating on a lighter level…what i’m confuse is this barely is a retaliation compare to 100% implemented by the American administration
Yeah. Make it 50%. Better still, stop using foreign things.
US guzzler oil equipment will drop sales…..when Trump elected, Xi will raise it to 50%
Tariff the hell out of large engine cars from eu and USA.
Tariff environmentally unfriendly vehicles.
this barely affects the US, it’s practically mainly targeting German cars
Blowback, they choose 25% since it’s allowed under WTO rules
America did 100%, China should do 100% too
Lol Nato focused on war, no they’re mad at china for dominating the business market.
China will impose 25% tariff for imported cars with internal combustion engine larger than 2500cc.
It’s a sin tax of carbon dioxide emission to punish those who buy gas guzzlers that pollute the cities.
Chinese protectionism should be denounced!!!! However US protection of jobs is justified.
Americans drive huge gas guzzling vehicles. Wasteful.
That’s fair the US and western world as a whole needs to learn the world doesn’t belong to them.
O dear now we r loosing the big engine mkt too
