U.K. election result will be ‘historic,’ political lecturer says

She is just talking about England
Not my words, but the words of Rick Blackman
Now that an election has been called, it’s important to get both current and historical perspective here. Other Labour Party leaders may in comparison to Starmer seem like socialists, but they were no friends of the left or the working class. The role of the Labour Party has always been to manage capitalism in a slightly more fairer way than the Tories or Liberals. Lenin in reply to a comment that the LP are the voice of the trade unions said that they were in fact the voice of the trade union bureaucracy. Indeed they have never represented the interests of the rank and file, quite the opposite. We should not romanticise that they have ever been any different. Corbyn is the aberration, not Starmer, Smith, Wilson or MacDonald. That said, the unique relationship that the LP has with the trade union movement allows us an ‘in’ that does not exist anywhere in politics, (certainly not in the Tory party) in the UK. It’s true that this ‘in’ has diminished in the last 30 years, but, and it’s a big but, it does still exist. The bigger picture dictates that we must think in terms of our class. The first and most important thing is to rid ourselves of the tories. A victory for them, however unlikely, would be a disaster from which we may possibly never recover. So that is the first priority. If people are political and on the left, it’s important to remember that many of our class are not, and do not necessarily compare and contrast the politics of Starmer to Blair to Attlee. The tories must be stopped. However, this does not mean we give carte blanche to the genocide enabling and serial liar Starmer and where independent candidates are standing we should, I believe, vote for them. There needs to be a left pressure on the Labour government. Where no left candidates exist, the discomfort we may feel voting for Starmer is incomparable to the pain of the tories winning. Vote Left, then Vote Labour. Kick the Tories out and Keep on Kicking.
just as historically pointless as usual because both parties are just as historically useless as each other
switching a blue Tory for a red Tory… such excitement. /s
Swapping one uniparty team for another; hardly historic.
What a nothing statement 😂
Historically pointless as both candidates are WEF and US puppets with exactly the same spineless policies, a commitment to throwing away tax payer money on immoral foreign meddling while domestically, the country destroys itself.
A huge erection
Historic in the sense that the globalist shills of the labour party, who with the help of the likes of SKY News, the Civil service and the BBC won’t have a single opponent to stop them implementing the WEF agenda.
The UK has never been in worse shape than ever before. We are an immigrant dumpling ground to the world. NHS on its face – £15 million per day for illegal immigrants hotels etc .. labour red for danger – they want to bring in another 100,000 Palestinians – As if we don’t have though third world migrants asylum seekers 🤯
There is zero difference between red or blue labour…useless, corrupt, self serving technocrats. The only historic event is the mass importation of Islamists who took over local councils via block voting.
yawn
If Rishi had stopped the boats he would get back in tomorrow
nope. the country is fkd and everything is broken. most of us dont give a shit about 30k people on boats arriving.
Most people in the UK have more important things to worry about.
Nothing will improve. Our entire political class is out of touch with reality and the working class.
well she has to say that doesn’t she or she becomes irrelevant
historically low turnout is about it….
Hannah specializes in voting behavior and political trust? two parties both BAD and not what they say, can’t trust any of them as they mislead and blatantly disregard the voters. This is not representative democracy its a choice of the same thing.
He has been told to throw the election by Israel as they have all the MPs they need in the Labour Party ready to go.
Every single election result is ‘historic’ who writes this pathetic arse bilge?
Would.
Conservatives have just turned things round. To hand it over to Labour…
One box of shite for a worse box of shite.
Both the US and UK lack are having all the wrong people elected to office.
Our systems need reform to encourage people who are actually interested in the common good and passing workable legislation.
We face an election of two clowns here also.
Both uninterested in anything for the common good
As much as I hate the Tories, it is hard to get excited about a Labour party that doesn’t seem to have any policies or desire to fix anything. It will just be more rampant immigration, more rampant taxation and more government debt. What I don’t understand is where all the money goes. We get taxed into oblivion yet there are pot holes everywhere, failing public services and no new infrastructure.
Into the pockets of the Oxford Chums.
Into hidden from view back pockets. Our money. Brilliant if you’re rich. You’re not? Tough shit. Starmegeddon will be the same shit, different party.
Thank god for the euro football , tories struggling ,starmer my god , victor meldrew of politics , labour government , mass illegal immigration, union rule , nationalisation , retirement age increase , 4 day working week , cushty , financed from thousands and thousands of acres of money trees laden with £50 notes to harvest when they need it 😂😂
The local election results are utterly irrelevant
Rishi is jumping ship ahead of a serious crisis in the fall…
Professor John Curtice the sort of UK Goto Guru when it comes to any sort of political elections has already said since the General Election was first called only yesterday that he thinks it highly unlikely that the Conservatives will get back in this time round and to be perfectly honest I simply think that the people of the UK have had enough of them for the foreseeable future.
Vote for change,
Vote for Labour.
The same Guru who regularly gets predictions wrong? Lots of us remember what Liebour did to the country, they haven’t changed. More mass migration, huge public debts, gender madness and a shattered economy. The only change is the colour in number 10 blue to red. We are between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Utterly trying to cast a spell
REFORM
What like every election is historic- totally stupid
Seems to have forgot she is still in Britain and its 4th of July not ” 4 July”
Hopefully because neither of the shiiite parties will win.
If everybody voted for reform UK. And no votes for either big parties. THAT would be historic.
The “I’m not a racist but–” demographic isn’t really big enough.
Reform UK are tanking in the polls, they’ll be lucky to get a single MP.
I’ll be voting Reform to get rid of the Tories and hopefully reduce the number of Labour ministers. Labour is going to be a disaster for the country if they win a large majority.
Vote for the right wing headbangers of Reform, split the Tory vote and ensure a massive Labour majority, sounds like plan. BTW there’ll be the same number of ministers whoever forms the government, about 20 senior ministers in the cabinet and between 60 and 80 junior ministers.
@@I_Evo Duh, of course there will be the same number of ministers! My point is that we need to get rid of the 2 party regime, where the policies are driven by the WEF and the globalists. Reform, could upset the ‘accepted norm’ of ignoring the peasants and pandering to the unelected globalists.
Since when did being right wing become illegal? The left wing extremists are not doing this country any favours.
Just a load of journalistic waffle. Why do we sponsor university departments in these pointless studies instead of using the money to train more doctors, dentists and nurses that we actually NEED?
Most people i have been speaking to about the GE are sick and tired of politicians in general no matter what colour hat they are wearing full of shite and untrustworthy
Historical low voter turn out, that`s for sure
Every election is historic, except for the next one
A complete hash up either way it goes.
Historic Youtube video beats historic record for the number of times the word historic is said in under 4 minutes
Rather a lack of quantitative political data from someone that lectures in quantitative politics
I think that’s actually a good analysis.
it will be historic when its non profit
were dammed if we do and dammed if we dont………were screwed. What an utter circus we live in
VOTE UK REFORM IF YOU DONT WANT WW3
Translating straight from local results to national election prediction? Is this really an expert?
What’s historical is how many ppl won’t vote as they don’t agree with the status quo yet won’t be counted
A minority of ppl run the country in to shit yet none ever held accountable as they have got rid of the laws that would hold them accountable and they call it democracy lmfao 🏴👍
State of UK: this political lecturer has a bead above and below her mouth. Cringe!
Sunak was facing a pile of no confidence letters to the 1922 committee.
With no alternative to vote for i worry the masses will fall victim to the reform party wrongly believing they are a alternative when they are further to the right than the conservatives
She has a double mouth piercing. Do you think this is normal for an English woman?
There are 650 elected members of the UK parliament. The prevailing view of the British public is around 600 are useless and not fit for public office. The vote will be, as discussed in this piece, against the Tories and not for Labour. No one believes Labour will be good for the country, just better than the Tories. My fear, is that eventually, the British people will be forced to the far-left or far-right.
The Conservatives are really just the Diet Coke of Labour these days. Woke, anti British globalists with authoritarian tendencies.
The next five years are going to be a complete car crash and they’ll massively overspend the public purse again as Labour cannot help themselves with vanity projects.
July will come and go and nothing will change !
A 125 seats no problem they will be all Muslims!
Election before people start complaining about what’s been done to millions of people most likely between the conscription scandal via targeting those in receipt of welfare, the war against the disabled with the crime of denying anxiety and depression are disabling conditions that have major effects on people’s daily lives and health, of which is coming from a guy who’s parents own a pharmacy our Prime Minister even made a YouTube video about trying to boost revenues for it in this mental health crisis, but mentioned nothing about good nutrition as a means to help the food and farm industries of which could gain from people eating themselves into better health and easing the strains on the NHS in such ways as I suggested that would enable many billions in savings of money and lives aswell as be of substantial benefit to citizens, the economy and the NHS care of non citizens and their native nations aswell to mention but a few gains of good nutrition advice of eating the right foods that help support wellbeing. You would be amazed of the extent of which dieticians and nutritionists could help the economy and armed forces in many ways if you think about it…
Labour will win because the Conservative vote is going to desert to Reform. Hopefully enough people will vote Reform to stifle the Red victory.
The Tory Party is 200 years old. It could be their fewest number of seats and lowest vote share on record.
Award Full majority and Power to Sunak , Better for UK future, free the country from Hidden Fanatics Islamised UK save . Too much Blabbering as a Fashion of UK , Change to a Visionary , Sunak is Good provided If Give Full Majority . No matter What Save the Country .
Vote for anyone apart from the uniparty globalists.
It’s a “careful what you wish for” election coming up.
Vote in haste, repent at leisure.
I hate Sinsk and Starmer on equal measures. But with FPTP a tactical note is a wasted vote.
Sunak destroyed the NHS publishing lies about NHS agency pay rates and using agency workers as a scapegoat to overspending and making sure cronies get away with not paying taxes
Yes , historic indeed. Swapping one conservative PM for another conservative PM. Is it historic because this PM will actually be voted in?
I see a pattern of symmetry. Labour ushered us into a beautiful period of prosperity and now they will usher us out of that long period of prosperity into doldrums that we haven’t seen since the 80s. However that symmetry is sheer happenstance. With the absence of effective, intelligent or inspiring leadership either side of the aisle, its inevitable that pain lies ahead.
There IS no enthusiasm for Labour nor is there a scrap of interest in more crappy Conservatism. There’s no doubt Reform has a job to do, but this GE will be historic due to their share of the vote by raw numbers. It will be massive.
The real vote we have is not for one of the two main political parties, but for democracy. That MEANS voting to break the sham system that’s wrecked this country, by voting for Reform. Take the long view.
The trouble for me is that if you think the Tories are bad just look at wales and see the shit show that Labour have made of that.
Labour is useless.
No offence intended but anyone who genuinely thinks this coming election will be ‘historic ‘ has no idea of the UKs past history.
As a lecturer I am sure has paid his communist party membership fee
Oh, wow, another fake expert
Doesn’t matter they are the same they don’t care about the people they just line their own pockets they are a uni party just like the USA
Interesting that it’s the 4th of July maybe this is the USA finally getting their real freedom from the city of London and the crown
Those metal blobs above and below her mouth look vile.
I was thinking the same, utterly vile. And those huge eccentric glasses don’t help. I would expect to see such attire on a leftie extremist at a pro Palestine demo, not on a university lecturer.
If you vote you support genocide. Try to evolve instead, there’s no reason to base society around these archaic, barbaric and perverse institutions.
Both sides the same I’m not voting and won’t any more
Why aren’t there any adverts telling people to get their photo ID ready prior to July? Media keeping quiet to let the Tories back in through the back door?
Keir Smarmy is completely untrustworthy, he reneged on the promises he made when he stood for the leadership of the Labour party. He says whatever is fashionable at the time. He can’t even define a woman, and says that a woman can have a penis, utter madness. Angela Raynor may have committed tax fraud on her houses, and she is intellectually outclassed by a half empty bag of peanuts. David Lammy sounds equally dim. Sadly this lot will get in, not that the Tories are impressive either. Soggy Sunak lacks charm, though I’m sure he’s a decent enough chap.
Who cares? Vote for Sunak and his blue tories, or Starmer and his red tories. Neither is fit to run this country, and neither can be trusted to keep their promises
No it won’t! It will be the same as every other general election 🙄🙄
What utter rubbish. Maybe historic for the lowest turn out ever as there is no one worth voting for.
Swapping one Israel apologist for another. Truly historic 🙄
😂
Soon as I saw the stupid studs in your trap i turned off because you can’t be a full shilling walking around like that
Historic loss for the electorate; swapping one austerity party for another, wearing red rosettes instead of blue.
Usual political class talking crap.
There is no point in voting cuz they do what they want not what we want.
This has been the worse government in British history, the public just wants them gone. Especially those who loaned thier votes on the back of Brexit and wanted an end to the immigration keeping wages low. They were sold out with even higher immigration, the highest tax burden in history and the wealth reduction due to Net Zero. Labour are not loved its just the Tory’s are despised.
Put NONE OF THE ABOVE on the ballot and I might vote. Until then I’m apathetic
No matter who you vote for, the WEF and who they work for will always get in.
Klaus’re gone
Starmer will receive fewer votes than Corbyn, he has the charisma of a potato. People just despise the tories,
But it’s all uniParty nonsense.
MUSLEMS VOTE WITH THE DOCUMENTS OF THE DEAD FOR LABOUR PARTY. DONT ACCEPT THEIR ELECTIONS.
‘Historic’ as in the worst incoming economic disaster, building on Labour’s 1976 humiliating IMF rescue & Labour’s 2008 Crash. The 14yrs of QE it took this time to correct it, will be 20+yrs next time.
2008 was a global crash, Einstein.
@@lwalker8785 – “Global” that somehow missed everywhere apart from countries with uncontrolled property bubbles from 1997-2007. Like China, India, Indonesia, S.E. Asia, Africa, most of South America, Australia, Middle East, etc. with ¾ of the world’s population.
The Enoch’s are going crazy now
It doesn’t matter who wins, they’re both WEF candidates.
Are We being controlled by the WEF, the US or the agenda to be net zero? Seems to me that Sunak is just a puppet being the mouth piece.
If the economy is looking better how come price of food is still going up
It not like Tony Blair’s first election win, when there was excitement and enthusiasm, but Labour’s win could ironically be bigger this time in terms of the margin of victory – such is the disgust with the unprincipled Johnson/crazy Truss/out of touch Sunak horror show that we have endured.
The only winners are the ones who had 4th if july at the bookies. ………….. So no one.
