Ukraine’s Zelenskyy discusses upcoming peace summit at the Shangri-La Dialogue

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended the Shangri-La Dialogue on Sunday, where he sought support for a peace summit in Switzerland that would be held later in June.

Speaking at the dialogue, he said that the U.S. and China held very different positions on the summit.

While U.S. president Joe Biden has not confirmed his attendance, U.S. representation is expected at the summit and the U.S. has been encouraging other countries to participate in the peace talks, he said.

China, however, will not be taking part at all and has been trying to prevent other countries from joining the summit, he added.
