Trump’s legal problems: Former prosecutor discusses the cases and possible house arrest

On Thursday afternoon, former President Donald Trump was found guilty by a New York jury on all 34 counts tied to falsifying business records in his criminal trial.
Former Federal Prosecutor Renato Mariotti joins Morning Brief to give insight into the guilty verdict and what it means for Trump moving forward with his pending cases and presidential campaign.
“I think it’s very fair to say that this case was winnable for the defense, but they really pursued a very poor strategy, and I think it will be interesting to see if they repeat that similar, very Trumpian strategy in the subsequent cases,” Mariotti, who is also a POLITICO Magazine Columnist and Partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, says on Trump’s other trials. “The January 6 case in DC is also stronger than this case, much more capable prosecutors as well, I would be concerned if I was in Trump’s team about that case.”
