It is not surprising to see investors selling off French stocks, given the extra risk premium due to the political uncertainty in France, said Sharon Bell, senior European strategist at Goldman Sachs.
However, French CAC 40 companies have been performing well in recent years and are “not super French-exposed,” she said.
The “most vulnerable” stocks are those of domestic companies and those with small market capitalization, she added.
