It was supposed to be a 10-day mission for the astronauts who rode to the International Space Station on Boeing’s Starliner in early June. But as engineers try to dissect thruster engine problems on the Starliner, NASA is now saying they could be brought home on another spacecraft, and it could be next February before they return. NBC News’ Tom Costello reports.

If I were them, I wouldn’t want to go back to earth on a Boeing craft. Boeing has lied about all the issues in their commercial airliners. And they are most likely lying about this spacecraft.

In terms of loads of radiation are you talking about 1Cv or a whole Rg? It’s quite similar to an InterContinental flight there is more radiation in a crate of bananas

Boeing is so full of themselves. Dump the Starliner into the atmosphere already and pay SpaceX to do the work to bring the astronaut’s home.

I think most of us would find that quite isolating and uncomfortable.
Obviously I don’t know how it feels to be weightless, but it looks like it would be a drag if you couldn’t leave after a few months.

Is NASA backing away from handing wins to Elon Musk and Space X? Why does NASA encourage humans fly home on a failed Starliner Ship rather than using Space X’s capability? It is obvious that the current government and many people in society dislike and do not trust Elon Musk? I was a fan of Elon Musk until he started throwing his opinions about politics around.
