Oh no, RIP 😢
“safe and effective”
Was the extreme heat the cause of his death? Was it 104 degrees in Ft Worth today like in Austin?
Congrats TX. You are truly incompitent.
Dumbest comment and I’m Californian.
How could this happen ?
Negligence….
@@dux_bellorum that’s what I mean .
Dehydration is a killer
En paz descanse Lazar Dukic😢
So no one went to help except call for the life guards????😂😂😂
So the saying is true. All muscles, no brains and courage.
a member of the public jumped in the water when he saw the man struggling, the two lifeguards on the paddle boards did nothing, they went to check on him but he was gone
@@DM_1313 much respect to the spectator who jump in.
bro helping a drowning man is usually very dangerous … happened here in italy a month ago in a river a guy my age drowned helping another guy that was drowning… both of them died
@@DM_1313Useless and might face charges of negligence themselves.
A person tried to help but was turned around by a women on the paddle board, she then paddle there, saw nothing and just turned around. DEI hires
Oh no
This was on livestream. He drowned not far from the finish line. Why didn’t the organizers have a simple motorized boat to get to swimmers quickly and get him medical attention? Not being able to get to him until 1 hr later is completely criminal. That alone is an indictment of how badly prepared organizers were for a water emergency.
Absolutely insane they wouldn’t have a plan for this, big lawsuit coming..
No one is going to sue anyone. They are unprepared at swimming. How prepared do you think they are at litigating cases in court?
They just dont spend money in that.
They did. Lack of visibility in the water made it difficult to find him once he went under.
Yep horrible !
Must have had the same team that was protecting Trump in PA.
Probably slow and overeating
Let the litigation begin 2:18 2:18 2:18
This was the last episode of Seinfeld. Not sure they have a good-samaritan law in Texas. Texas is like Arizona, survival of the fittest (no pun intended).
Should kept it in wisconsin too hot in texas
How was only 5 water safety personnel for 79 athletes an adequate plan?
2 of which were 30 ft from him
CrossFit is not a professional organisation
@@johnsinglet575Still had to be signed off from the H&S (baseline) perspective, by city official surely?
Public pools have like 100 kids there on average and only 1 or 2 lifeguards. What’s the point.
an hour later???
Trump prefers Athletes who don’t die.
crossshit has been a joke for years now
Castro…
Sad😢
was he vaxxed?
He was European lol all of those commies got vaxxed unfortunately
RIP🕊
This is shocking and sad. CrossFit is not safe. Better safety coordination would have prevented this death.
This is really so sad((
Swimming should be at beginning and should have more safety precautions. Better yet just get rid of it. So many options for CF.
Absolute Madness to have the swim after a run !!!
@@valottaway9174wtf? It’s was after the run? Which genius programmed this workout.
CrossFit is stupid
You… voted for Trump. ❤️ hope this help clear up any confusion
He didnt drown suddenly, he was struggling a lot near the finish line and near shallow waters! And he went quite visibly underwater after the struggle! There were no rescue teams watching them! Two of the rescuers that were super close to him, and would be able to save him, didnt even notice he went under water, what were they doing? This could have been easily prevented!!
A negligence claim incoming…👍🏾
Cross fit is a bogus sport. It is full of competitors who injure themselves. This guy was no different. When was the last time a hockey player fell through ice and died? When was the last time a tennis player died? CrossFit sport should not exist because it kills people during training as well as competition. This event and all it’s sponsors should be cancelled. The livestreamees should have their fcc licenses revoked.
Hope CrossFit games get giga sued
Although we don’t know what happened to this individual, one thing I know is that people underestimate these open water swimming events. Water in Texas this time of the year is super hot. It feels like swimming in a soup honestly. If you are not used to it and have not done preparation you can easily have a heat stroke… yes, in the water. I have experienced the symptoms myself and it is an awful feeling.
It’s not the water or the athlete, the onus is on the personnel at the event to ensure participants are safe, there was clearly an oversight in this regard and I agree with the previous comment having two or five or an minimal amount of guards for almost 100 athletes is insane. It’s not like CrossFit can’t afford to pay for multiple guards to ensure the participants are safe. I hope this is not a case of wanting to save money and so only having a small amount of guards.
That’s true ! As a ironman athlete myself .. you sweat when you swim and people never consider that either
A fib could have been a factor !
Corporate Erin voice from Mayhem shirt
Tragic. The organizing entity in charge clearly failed its duty.
You know what’s funny? These neanderthals are continuing the events.
There goes CrossFit’s money.
The “Safety Plan” referenced by CEO Don Faul during yesterday’s press conference is available in the livestream video of the event. It included three people on paddle boards (without ancillary floating devices) and a dude on a jet ski… to monitor 79 athletes over an 800 meter course on open water. On the Kettlebells and Cocktails podcast (The direction of CrossFit: A Conversation with CrossFit CEO Don Faul) six months ago, CEO Don Faul reported that “We still spend way too much money on sport (CrossFit games) … we are going to take meaningful amounts out of that.”
Just like there us a boat there, where was a boat or help when it was happening with witnesses.
I was in a lake not ten feet from a boy who drowned. It took three hours to locate the body. I’m sure crossfire took every precaution they could. Its just a tragic accident that no one could have for-seen.
🤔🤯
since when are crossfitters doing swim and runs? condolences to his family
Is this supposed to be a prelude for a military boot camp?
Should this not be a criminal investigation?
That’s a little far fetched
@@Kwildcat13 well criminal negligence causing death. Better do the investigation and find nothing than missing a Huge lack of security concern going not address.
“Criminal negligence (sometimes called culpable negligence) refers to a defendant who acts in disregard of a serious risk of harm that a reasonable person in the same situation would have perceived.”
I think that could be in the criteria but without investigation we will never know.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHAT?!
Men witnessed this happen yet the body wasn’t recovered until after an hour?? No shot people just watched him die and did nothing right?..
Tells people how horrible crossfit is very unorganized
this is completely unacceptable and absurd in 2024
If the swim was not the first event there should be some accountability for reckless endangerment and negligence
how did it take 1 hour to find a dead man
Michael Beasley

Good to see that the two guys who will go to jail for this is being interviewed
