During the rise of the Ottoman empire, the Kurds were promised a separate homeland. When the borders of modern Turkey and its neighbours were drawn there was no more talk of an independent Kurdistan.

Hello, Im a Kurd here, the main reason we are still a region and not a country is because of Winston Churchill, he split us up and left us, Turkey is also a big factor and constantly killing Kurds woth drone strikes with Iran till this day, blowing up schools aswell, the United States do help us but also wont let us have a country, we cannot fight back due to no allies, Saddam Hussein was good but also bad and the history of him is way too long to explain. Otherwise, other countries like Yemen and Libya would have also been backed by other countries. If they want to take land from more than 4 countries then they need to at least show that they can cooperate with said countries instead of saying “it’s not our problem we’re going to cause you problems”. At the end of the day you need to establish trade and security upon creating your independence. Violence and arrogance is not the answer.
