The UN agency for the protection of children reports a significant increase in the recruitment of children by gangs in Haiti. UNICEF estimates that children now make up 30 to 50 per cent of the country’s gang members. Gangs already control 85 per cent of Port-au-Prince and, with more children on the frontline, aim to take full control of the capital. For Haiti’s children—millions caught in the crossfire, unable to attend school, or driven to join armed gangs due to extreme poverty—the situation is particularly dire.

Who is supplying the high grade U.S.Military weapons to these Haitian gangs?
That not military grade son. That civilian weaponry.
Lol such a lame anti west comment. Haitians are auto destructive no matter how much money you give to them.
@@edwardrichardson5567 Corruption is probably the reason
@edwardrichardson5567 This isn’t high grade military weapons. It’s basic civilian rifles.
It is a similar story, just a different cast.
The Haiti issue makes my heart so sore, it needs to get better. Hoping hoping hoping for the best outcome.

Theses NGOs are useless in Haiti. They’re on vacation collection salaries
Let’s see a month without those NGOs
It is fine to have empathy for the Haitian children but that will not change the fundamentals of this malaise. The guns that Haitian gangs have were not manufactured in Haiti. The USA must stop the flow of guns and ammunition from the USA into the hands of Haitian gangs. The USA is sending $60 billion in military aid to Ukraine 7,000 miles from USA. USA has not only sent artillery and tanks to Ukraine but is supporting the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine. USA not even a slingshot to Haiti, so that the Haitian government can fight the Haitian gangs.
Haiti has a new Prime Minister. Syria has a new government. USA has announced to the world that it will work with the new Syrian government, which is 6,000 miles from the USA. USA not one word about helping its neighbor, Haiti. Kenya is helping Haiti. Also, Jamaica.
Even if guns are taken away, people will just resort to using machetes. Unfortunately, Haitians seem to have a tendency toward self-destructive behavior, causing problems wherever they go. Until the root issues are addressed, this cycle will continue.
How will the police and army get weapons then? If they should stop sending support?
But in the same time yeah. They must help the Haiti government improve anti corruption and any nations should supply the army and police
I’m guessing the US will start to care if the situation goes out of control and it begins to bleed into US mainland. The reasonable idea would be to nip it in the bud right now but 🤷♂️
USA, France, and Canada do no benefit from poor black nations succeeding.
My family is from Haiti. I was blessed enough to be born in the USA. And God has given me peace where I am. But I am praying he has mercy on this country and turns it around.
@Jack-me167 unfortunately, the USA is corrupt even itself. Do you think it has time (or even interests) for fighting corruption in a foreign nation?
CIA, FBI, IRS, these are all organization which have a bad reputation by its own citizens… what would happen if these organizations were to step into Haiti? (Not saying realistically they would)

Childhood recruitment is not new, Rome did it too which eventually led to its downfall from the inside. But it has happened in many places in many times.
so what you saying, it’s okay?
