It’s designed to meet soaring demand for air travel there and challenge the worldwide dominance of Airbus and Boeing.

*Key parts, including the engines are foreign manufactured* – I really should hope so!!! There are very few *power plants* manufacturers in the world (i.e. Rolls Royce, Pratt and Whitney). So are *landing gear* manufacturers, as well as *inboard electronic systems*. The Chinese are simply trying to copy the various *air frame* parts they’ve been manufacturing for many years for Boeing and Airbus, and assembling them to create the *C919*, the first *large passenger air frame* coming out of China. It’s the same story for all air frame manufacturers (i.e. Bombardier, Boeing, Airbus, Dassault, Embra Air, etc…) who assemble the finished *airplane* according to the client’s order concerning power plants, landing gear and inboard electronics.
Although the more competition the better the industry is I don’t like how China’s business practices whenever a foreign company tries to do business in China, almost all the time the Chinese are unfair and side with Chinese companies regardless of the case. That is why you see a lot of car designs from Chinese car manufacturer that look the same as western or Japanese cars . This plane should not be supported.

Japanese and Korean business philosophy is very different to China’s.
The Japanese, for example, would never cut corners or produce something sub-standard. In China the quality of the end product is largely irrelevant next to the potential profit.

The reporter saidthe COMAC C919 is not a fully home made Chinese plane. But he forgot to mention that Boeing and Airbus also are not fully home made. Wing, doors, rudder, parts for Boeing 737 are made in China. And assembled in the USA. Engines the same. You have the choice British or American. Airbus has the Frenceh SNECA engine option.

Ever since I heard that Airbus started manufacturing it’s airplanes in China many years ago, I immediately knew that it is only a matter of time before China learns to make their own airplanes. When Europe, EU, and Japan transfer manufacturing to China, they are also handing over the technological key to China as well.
THAT WAS ONLY HALF THE TRUTH, for the West & Japan transfered only obsolete, third rate technology when they moved their manufacturing facilities into China! Didn’t you heard or said about cheap and crappy things “made in China” ? Just like American will not sell F22 to even UK or its Western allies, which American keeps for its own defence! But sell its second rate fighter F35 to its allies!
