Lebanon’s Hezbollah says it fired rockets towards an Israeli army post in Shtoula, northern Israel, in response to the killing of Lebanese journalist Issam Abdallah and other civilians. In Lebanon, fears are growing of war with Israel as hundreds of residents near the border are already sheltering or fleeing cross-border attacks. Lebanon’s population of 6 million may be “used to” war, as one Beirut resident told Al Jazeera, but the escalating conflict comes as the country is still recovering from recent economic turmoil. The judge investigating the 2020 Beirut port explosion has charged Lebanon’s then-prime minister, Hassan Diab, and two other former ministers with homicide with probable intent, according to a court summons seen by the Reuters news agency.
