Hezbollah says attack on northern Israel in response to killing of Lebanese journalist

Lebanon’s Hezbollah says it fired rockets towards an Israeli army post in Shtoula, northern Israel, in response to the killing of Lebanese journalist Issam Abdallah and other civilians.
Abdallah was killed and six other journalists were wounded – including two Al Jazeera reporters – in shelling on Friday by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, according to witnesses at the scene.
Israeli retaliation followed, targeting several villages on the Lebanese side of the border.
A pattern is emerging: Hezbollah primarily attacks the Shebaa Farms, a disputed area. However, when they retaliate to Israeli attacks, they target areas inside Israel.
Israel may no longer be fighting on just two fronts; it appears a third front is brewing. Rockets were launched toward Israel from Syria yesterday, prompting Israel to strike Syria’s Aleppo airport.
The Israeli army says it has decided to isolate an area up to 4km (2.5 miles) from the northern border with Lebanon, making it off-limits to public access.
It said that “entering the area is strictly prohibited”.

Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem reports from southern Lebanon.
