The exercises took place just two days after the country’s air defence identification zone was breached twice by several Chinese planes. China is due to start a large-scale military exercise on Thursday in the disputed waters of the South China Sea. Indonesia says it has rightfully captured a Chinese fishing vessel in the South China Sea after it was caught fishing illegally in its waters. China had issued a protest with Indonesia after the vessel was captured and crew arrested last week. This is the second incident in the past three months causing a diplomatic row between the two countries.
