Hope of finding survivors is quickly fading as stretched rescue teams in Turkey and Syria search for signs of life in the debris of thousands of buildings toppled by the world’s deadliest earthquake in more than a decade. The extent of the devastation was breathtaking, with rows of apartment blocks reduced to twisted metal, rubble and dust in many communities. Hope, heartbreak as children pulled from rubble in Turkey, Syria

Millions of children caught in the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey and Syria, which was followed by a second magnitude 7.6 earthquake hours later and more than 100 aftershocks. Exhausted rescuers got a boost when they pulled a four year old boy from a collapsed building in Saliurfa. Israeli forces kill five Palestinians in Jericho

Israeli forces have shot dead at least five Palestinian men during a raid on Jericho in the eastern occupied West Bank. The large-scale raid took place in the early hours of Monday in the Aqabet Jabr refugee camp – which has been under an Israeli siege, as described by Palestinians, for more than a week – and continued until after dawn.
