Nine days into the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, both sides appear to be ramping up hostilities over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan’s defence ministry said Armenian forces were shelling three of its towns – Beylagan, Barda, and Terter. NATO’s chief Jens Stoltenberg and Russian president Vladimir Putin are calling for an immediate ceasefire. after dozens of casualties were reported in the deadliest fighting there for more than 25 years.
