Typhoon Haishen made landfall just north of the South Korean city of Busan on Monday morning, cutting power to homes and factories, toppling trees, and forcing trains to be cancelled and flights grounded. Haishen has brought heavy rains and strong winds, but was downgraded from a Typhoon to a tropical Storm. Seoul has urged North Korea to abandon plans to send anti-South Korean leaflets across their shared border. North Korea says it has 12 million propaganda leaflets printed and 3,000 balloons ready to carry them South across the border. It follows a week of worsening relations after a propaganda campaign by group of North Korean defectors. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has made his first public appearance in 20 days, North Korean state media reported early on Saturday, ending an absense that sparked speculation about his health.
