La Palma volcano destroys hundreds of homes, displaces thousands

More than 6,000 people have now been forced from their homes in La Palma, one of the Spanish Canary Islands. Parts of the area have been engulfed in lava from a volcano which erupted on Sunday. 53 sailors presumed dead after sunken Indonesia submarine debris found

Indonesian authorities have confirmed a submarine that went missing with 53 people on board has sunk. Crews found debris from the KRI Nanggala 402 near the coast of Bali, and authorities say it is evidence that the vessel cracked. They believe the submarine could be 850 metres below the ocean surface, making the search effort more difficult and dangerous.
