Head of Hezbollah threatens Israel, Cyprus in televised address

The head of Lebanon’s Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah has warned that his group would fight with “no rules” and “no ceilings” in case a broader war with Israel erupts, and that nowhere in Israel would be safe from Hezbollah’s attacks. In a televised address, Nasrallah said that included possible targets in the Mediterranean Sea. Cyprus votes in presidential election as run-off expected

People in the Republic of Cyprus have begun voting for their eighth president in the ethnically divided island’s 63-year history as an independent state, with three frontrunners. Heralding the end of two terms for incumbent conservative President Nicos Anastasiades, some 561,000 Greek Cypriots are eligible to vote in the election on Sunday after a campaign dominated by issues such as corruption, labour disputes related to accelerating inflation, irregular migration, and a deadlocked peace process with estranged Turkish Cypriots who live in the self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Cyprus ends citizenship through investment scheme

Cyprus has abolished a lucrative programme granting citizenship in turn for investments after an Al Jazeera expose. The parliamentary speaker who is seen in the undercover video says he will abstain from duties until an investigation is completed.
