Russian President Vladimir Putin claims the Ukrainian counter-offensive is “not succeeding.” Russia’s air defence forces and fleet in the Black Sea shot down ten Ukrainian drones over the Crimean port of Sevastopol, according to Russian officials. According to Ukrainian and Polish officials, Wagner Group fighters have arrived in Belarus from Russia. Ukraine says it is making gains in the offensive against Russian forces to recapture Bakhmut. The city in eastern Ukraine has been at the heart of fierce fighting for months. Ukraine’s armed forces released a video showing what it said were soldiers storming Russian positions. Intense fighting in Bakhmut as remaining civilians struggle
