Russia’s air defence forces and fleet in the Black Sea shot down ten Ukrainian drones over the Crimean port of Sevastopol, according to Russian officials.
According to Ukrainian and Polish officials, Wagner Group fighters have arrived in Belarus from Russia.
Putin says Russia has a “sufficient stockpile” of cluster bombs and reserves the right to use them if such munitions are used against Russian forces in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian troops don’t have to physically kick Russia out of Ukraine. All they have to do is apply enough pressure and create enough bodybags to eventually wake up the Russian population to the ridiculous aim of this war.

A truth with a stretch… Russian president Putin did not call that Russian attacks are NOT SUCCEEDING when trying to take Bakhmut, and they took like 1 square kilometer a day (7-8 months of slow advance). Now Ukraine advances with “double the speed” and Putin calls it: NOT SUCCEEDING! 😂😂
Ok, the truth is that Ukraine hoped for faster success.
That said, villages are taken, some 160 square kilometers captured, and a few important point now under Ukrainian attack (like strategically important hills south of Bakhmut).
So no huge advance, but a step forward. then it is also not only about captured area, but about how efficiently Ukraine can destroy weapons depots, ammo, logistics… if/when that is done, the advancement might be faster.
@Jack Hodges well Ukraine advanced both in north and south, not very far must be admitted but they took positions.
In south, even if sliw advancecthey have taken 2 heights (which generally are harder to take) vest of a village (I think it is Klischiivka). Russia has sent reinforcements there, but Ukraine is pressing on. If it falls UKraine is on the smaller south road of Bakhmut.
@Pjotr II No doubt Russia is quite aware of the situation and is not about to let Ukraine get around the sides of Bakhmut if it can possibly help it. Ukraine are pressing for sure but they keep getting thrown back too.
If Russia has brought in reinforcement it is because Ukraine has revealed its intentions with attacks by small forces that were not a strong enough blow to succeed. This seems to be the story all along the front more or less. Ukraine seem nervous of committing enough forces to actually achieve a breakthrough.
I think this is because they know that they have very limited resources and that is making them be too reticent. I see people saying Ukraine has more tanks than ever; one comment suggested 1,400 tanks. If that is true then attack Klischivka with 100 tanks.
I have yet to see any video with more than 3 tanks working together.
@Jack Hodges Here is how I understand the situation. Ukraine has deliberatly spread outctge attacks… this forces Russia to keep soldiers on all fronts.
The goal has been to find a weak spot and then come in with force. This has not happened yet.
* Ukraine did not start the scouting (coubter offensice) as I expected = with massive missile (Himars) strike on tatgets and then bring in the heavy weapons. They have used himars and Stormshadows, but on an outdragged time, weeks…. not days.
Now Ukraine waits for the “granade” bombs which are more efddctive against trenches.
It is not an easy task to attack, Ukraine also lack planes and helicopters to have effective fast attacks.
@Pjotr II Yes, Ukraine has tried what you say but if you have not found a weak spot in 6 weeks of attacks then it is time to think again.
The cluster munitions will not help.
They were not designed for clearing trenches at all. 90% of the bomblets will not land in the trench and will do no harm.
Ukraine already has ‘very accurate’ artillery and landing a few large shells in the trench will clear it far more effectively.
Even then it is difficult. Over a million shells were fired at the German trenches on the Somme but still the German defenders were there.
Cluster munitions will however be deadly to a platoon of infantry advancing across a field to try and take that trench.
And Russia will be responding.
Cluster munitions are only being sent because America is short of the ammunition that they really need. This has been admitted already. It is a stopgap to give Ukraine something to fire until shell production is increased.

Russians hiding in a forest that you can´t fully see due to vegetation, with some trenches… I would rather fire a few cluster bombs there, than a few single shells.
And as they have both, they will be able to choose.
Russia will be responding but here is the irony. Despite Putin´s claim, Russia has used cluster bombs since the start of the war… we have video evidence, Ukrainians have lots of empty shells of Russian cluster bombs. Nothing new!
the US have 5,5 million cluster bombs, and that will be enough for export/gift to Ukraine, as they probably start making more.
Shell production has been an issue, as, especially the European countries have NOT been in war, and some have not prepared well for war either.
European countries produced 20.000-25.000 per month (until the war), and the goal is now 175.000 shells/month by one suggestion. 1 million/year would be given to Ukraine and the rest to fill European stocks.

Little wonder that right from the start of the war, Ukraine’s central strategy was psychological operations (PsyOps). PsyOps is no longer efficacious when the situation on the ground is laid bare. Very soon the Kyiv govt. will decide it won’t be productive to allow any media reps to report from the frontlines.

With losses of 1 Russian soldier to 8-10 Ukrainian soldiers, I would say this soldier is being misinformed about the two sides being ‘evenly matched’. I heard it best from a surrendered Ukrainian soldier who said something like ‘Why are they forcing us to give our lives to take back a part of Ukraine that doesn’t want us to take them back?’
@Ezequiel Pedroza I don’t want to be mean about them. I saw one video short where a Ukrainian soldier, who was an artist, sculpted images, frescoes, in the trench wall, they were beautiful.
I look at this war as more than as if I were a kid fighting plastic soldiers with eachother. I’d say the geopolitics is probably one of the bigger factors but those never-stopping money machines that the west, particularly America, has been abusing for so long – the ones paying for the Kyiv regime to keep sacrificing Ukraine’s men in the fight to be allowed to keep them working 🖨💵💵💵, keep printing nothing-money, keep starting wars in other countries to plunder resources or shape political outcomes to western favour for greed and power… these things are not worthy to be fighting for, especially considering that those Ukrainian soldiers, while fighting for these things for the west have fought THEMSELVES into severe debt while doing it.
But their media is strictly controlled and their access to outside information is limited so it’s not their fault that they don’t know it. The Russians KNOW what they are fighting for, and their reasons are worthy. These examples I gave are major but they still only scratch the surface.
The Ukrainian men fight because they have to, because they aren’t allowed to leave – when they find a way, they’re outta there. The Russian soldiers sign up, volunteer, come back to fight again when their contracts expire. It’s because they know the importance of what they are doing.

All I’m saying is that after the 2014 invasion ( which I don’t support btw ) that by default there will be a Russian majority as they sent a lot of Russian ppl there and the government incentivized it so that’s what the captured Ukrainian soldier was talking about , but I am pro Ukraine getting it’s pre 2014 borders back but getting back crimea and parts of Donetsk and Luhansk back is gonna be way more difficult then zaporizhzhia and Kherson

The Russians use about 28,000 rounds of artillery each day while Ukraine uses only 6,000 . This is combined with the fact that Russia has yet to even deploy its reserves into combat them totaling between 180 to 240 thousand soldiers its obvious what’s the outcome awaiting Ukraine .

It is quite naive to make conclusions on a war that will obviously last years. How long did America occupy Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam and who outlasted whom?
