Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority (SCA) said it was temporarily suspending navigation through one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes until the grounded container vessel MV Ever Given is refloated. The Nile has become a political statement as countries across Africa fight for control of it. Egypt and Sudan depend on the river for their water. It is fed by the Blue Nile in Ethiopia.
