In Russia’s far east, fear and defiance against military call-up

Long queues have formed at Russia’s land borders as people try to escape President Putin’s mobilisation of reservist forces. Flights out if the country are also said to be full, with tickets to the few countries that allow Russians visa-free travel selling at inflated prices. Serbia is one of just a few countries to which Russians can travel without a visa. Finland to restrict entry from Russia as Russians flee

Russia is stepping up the mobilisation of army reservists as Ukraine’s counteroffensive continues. This is pushing some Russians to try to flee the country. 40,000 Venezuelans lose their citizenship card in Colombia

More than 40,000 migrants from Venezuela have unexpectedly lost their Colombian citizenship cards, without being told. Most of them are the children of Colombian citizens. What’s behind the migrant crisis between Morocco and Spain? | Inside Story

Many migrants using inflatable rings and dinghies have often made the dangerous journey from Morocco into Spain. But this week an influx of at least 8,000 was unusually high, threatening a humanitarian crisis. Many were young men, but there were also families and unaccompanied minors. India orders deportation of migrants who fled Myanmar military coup

People in the Indian state of Mizoram are welcoming migrants who have fled the military coup in Myanmar. The government, however, is ordering their deportation. Hundreds of people have crossed the border, including police officers and soldiers who say they fled because they were ordered to open fire on pro-democracy protesters.
