Pakistan: Imran Khan supporters celebrate after court grants bail

The Islamabad high court has granted former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan two weeks’ bail on corruption charges. On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled his arrest this week was unlawful. Khan’s arrest led to mass protests, resulting in at least eight deaths. Imran Khan is blaming the head of Pakistan’s powerful army for his arrest, which sparked mass protests, violence and looting. The government says the judiciary’s preferential treatment of Khan means the death of justice in Pakistan. Jubilant Imran Khan supporters erupted into song and dance after the court order. Former Pakistan PM appears in Islamabad high court

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been granted a two week bail by Islamabad High Court on Friday in a graft case. After being granted bail, Khan has blamed the army chief, General Syed Asim Munir, for the situation in the country. “It’s not the security institution; it is just one man, the army chief. There is no democracy in the army. The army is getting maligned by what is happening right now in the country,” Khan told reporters in the courtroom. Pakistan’s ex-PM Imran Khan alleges plot to imprison or kill him

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan says it is only a matter of time before he is imprisoned or killed. He made the remarks in an online post, in which he spoke out against the government and the military. The Lahore district administration has granted permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Minar Pakistan between the night of the 25th and 26th of March. Pakistan court cancels arrest warrants for ex-PM Imran Khan

A court in Pakistan has cancelled arrest warrants for former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a corruption case, the warrants were cancelled after Khan officially marked his appearance at the court. Khan’s car reached the gate of the court building on Saturday during confrontations between police and supporters of his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
